Melody's POV:

.........................

"Mel, open up.” Harry knocks constantly and I know that his patience is disappearing with each knock. I quiet my tears and ignore his demand, but he frightens me by banging my door. “IF YOU WON’T OPEN THE DOOR THIS INSTANCE, I WILL BREAK IT GOD DAMN IT! OPEN IT UP MELODY!”

I fear the unknown, and for that I walk slowly to twist the doorknob open. Once the door opens, I flinch back cautiously, fearing any action or word from Harry. To my complete shock, he isn’t alone.

Anne stands beside him, and she flashes ma a concerned look. Harry holds me in his arms immediately, and pulls me tighter than he ever did before. I don’t know why, but I push his shoulders backwards, denying an of his affection at the moment.

He groans and tries to hug me again, but his mother commands instantly: “Stop it. (He freezes, and I am amazed on how she is able to control his actions) Leave us alone, honey. And close the door behind you please.” He stares at me in worry, as he turns his heels and leaves. She waits no longer than to hug me, and I accept it by hugging her back as my weeping proceeds.

“There, there. Calm down, love… (She sighs in my hair, and proceeds) Whatever he has done, know that he did it without thinking rationally.” I want to roll my eyes, but I’m too busy being a depressed crybaby. She sits us both on one of the couches in the corner of the bedroom, and her arms drape around mine in a warmful matter.

“From the moment you came to Cheshire, till the moment you called me to tell me the truth about everything and inviting me over; I knew that you’ve done it for his sake. (I nod in amazement, realising how she knew my intentions) Harold wasn’t like this at all when he was younger, but he changed due to the divorce, and our financial issue… Has he told you the reason he ran away here? (I nod again, and it’s her turn to be shocked) Really? Wow… I never thought he might open up to someone. I guess he really trusts you, love. I will have a word with him, but please sweetie just forgive his uncontrollable beha-…”

I cut her off and blurt out: “I slapped him.” She shocks me by laughing so hard, that I join her;we are really messed up. “Well he deserved it, I’m sure. Now, lets fix your makeup and go back to dinner, alright?”

I have never had a mother to know the feeling of one, but Anne’s actions and words are making me witness this new feeling right now. I nod at her as she plants a kiss on my cheek; she sits beside me in front of the mirror, and I let her fix my disaster face. “(She coos in a singing matter) There you go, that’s the beautiful girl I first met in Cheshire.” I smile at her reflection through the mirror, as she pats my shoulder in comfort.

“Never stop smiling, even if it’s because of Harry. From the way I just saw you two sitting beside each other when I arrived, I saw that glow in both of your eyes. He loves you as much as you do, trust me. Just be patient with him, and bare with his anger. He’s not himself when he’s like that.” I reply in agreement: “Yeah.” I stand up and I walk with Anne to the door. Once the door is opened, we both gasp at what we see laying under us.

Harry is sitting on the ground, and banging his head backwards to the wall. His eyes are shut, but the harm that he is applying to himself is too much. I don’t want him to hurt himself, or anyone else. I lean down to his face level, and I brush one of his curls away from his forehead, making his eyes strike open.

“Baby?” His voice is croaky with guilt, and I wait no longer to drag him into my arms. He plants multiple kisses on my bare shoulder nonstop, as I brush his hair smoothly to calm him down. We are a mental couple, but we love each other too much to be apart.
