Melody's POV:

.........................

“Kids? What’s going on? (He pauses and looks at me uncomfortably) Melody?” My dad gestures for me to answer, and I just sigh and crack my fingers. “Nothing dad. Philip dropped whine on his blazer, and I am getting it cleaned up for him right now.”

Philip doesn’t answer, as my father and his parents exchange confused looks. “Nice seeing you, Philip. Excuse me I need to enter the ladies room.” I walk away leaving them all in the scene, as I march to the bathroom. White Party? More like a White Disaster…

… After the Party ended…

I take off my heels, and dip them in the pool; sitting down on the edge. I’m still in my dress and utterly frustrated from tonight. A minimal amount of waiters clean the rest of the garden, as I glance at the pool beneath me. “Hey.”

A calm voice speaks, and I lift my chin up to see his green eyes. I don’t reply, I simply sigh and look back again at the pool. He sits closer to me, and takes off his shoes and socks, folding his pants a little higher. As he dips his legs beside mine, I admire the ripples that form in the water tank. It reminds me of today’s incident when we were together in the pool.

“Am I fired?” He asks emotionlessly, and my eyes widen at his words. I look at him, and furrow my eyebrows at him. He flexes his eyes into my own, and I get trapped immediately in our contact. “Why would you be fired, Harry? It’s not your fault, I mean things like this happen. You didn’t do it intentionally, right?” He nods calmly, unable to remove his eyes off of mine.

“Then don’t ask a question that isn’t valid.” He nods again, and it kills me not hearing his voice. “I’m sorry for what Philip said to you, and for the way he treated you. You shouldn’t be insulted at all…” I add, trying to make him talk to me.

“What? You’re seriously apologizing for that twat!? Why!? If you only left me to deal with him I swear I would ha-…”I interrupt his angry words and speak: “Enough, Harry. Just calm down okay? I am apologising to you on his behalf, please be rational about this.” His open mouth closes slowly, and he sighs deeply.

“I’m sorry that I yelled at you, but I really didn’t want you to bend down… for many reasons. One, because its not your fault, and two because… (He swallows and tries to form appropriate words) well… your dress is a little short… not that I have a problem with how you look tonight… you look beautiful… Shit! I mean, like you know… Ugh, you get my point right?” His frustration and feelings color my cheeks in a light shade of glossy pink. He thinks I look beautiful? Where is the mean Harry!? I giggle, as I stomp my feet in the cool water, while he does the same beside me.

What’s happening to us? We were fighting and raging a war between us, and now look where him and I are at. “I’m going to bed, its pretty late and I must rest after tonight’s events.”

I slide my feet up, and stand, holding my heels in my hand. He stares at me deeply, as if his eyes are doing the talking instead of his mouth. “Well, um… good night.” I speak again, trying to let his words come out in a reply. He keeps looking at me, and I sigh knowing that he isn’t going to reply.

As I start walking away from him, he claims immediately: “Wait!” I close my eyes and smile, then turn around and stare at him. “Thank you, I guess…” He mutters and I nod. Thank you? That’s all? Well what was I expecting? Whatever. As I turn back to proceed my walk, I hear him groan and lift his feet from the pool.

Well, at least the war died between us, right? Or is it just because of today? I hate being mean to him… I mean anyone in general! I know I might sound like a child right now, but does it take so much for him to wish me good night in reply? Melody, quiet down and go to bed.
