Harry’s POV:
.......................
“Its been what? Four years since I last saw you?” My mother isn’t speaking in a mad tone, but I feel so awkward having this conversation with here right now. “Yeah.” That’s what I only say, clearly because I have so much to talk about, but nothing is ready to be stated yet. “I forgive you, though.”I look at her warm eyes, and I nod trying to stop my nervousness. “Harold I love you so much, honey. I have feared everyday that we were apart, that you might hate me. I know you called every now and then, but you never told me why you left.” She sits beside me on the edge of her bed, and places her hand on my knee that is bouncing like a vibrator.
“Mom please don’t start this.” I beg her since I hate expressing my feelings. I have taught myself that showing my feelings to anyone might reflect a weakness. “Just please answer me this… (I feel that she’s pushing herself not to cry, but it’s clear) Why did you run away without telling me? Without even seeing me for the last time before you did?” The hell with this, I can’t hide my feelings in front of her anymore.
I drape my hand over her shoulders, bringing her closer to me. She sobs with no sound, and my chest burns from her teardrops. “I had to leave the life we were living… I though if I left and found a way to make money, I would return and change both our lives for good, mum. I didn’t mean to hurt you, and I didn’t know how to explain it to you whenever I called.” She nods into my chest, as her head slightly lifts.
“You’re my only child you know that.” I nod slowly; afraid I might begin to cry. Cry? I never cried, well not recently. The last time a tear dropped from my eyes was… was when I tried waking Melody out of her coma.I felt so angry that she wasn’t going to wake up, and that I have lost the only white spot in my entire black world.“(She changes the topic) You know how I managed to come here?” I nod. I think I do… do I?
“She’s a fascinating creature, that girl. She came to Cheshire just to give me money. (She laughs but not in a humor cause) She told me her name was princess, and she didn’t even let me know why or who sent her to give me the large amount of money. After a month, she called me to explain everything, and she even sent me an actual jet to escort me here. If you are dating this girl for her money, I am not happy with you at all.” I jump from the bed, insanely mad from what my mother predicted of me.
“How could you say this? Don’t you see that I love her so much for who she is? She tries every single moment of her life to make me smile; she has changed me and taught me how I must calm down under any stressful situation. She showed me that care that no one offered me in my entire life. She was the one that made sure to reunite us just so that I can be relieved of the guilt of leaving you. How could you accuse me such thing? Do you really think I am a depender like my… dad?” She surprises me by laughing. “I was just teasing you, don’t I get to tease my little Harold?” I roll my eyes, and she stands up to hug me.
I hug her back, feeling the relief of having my mother back in my life.“Go to bed, and let me have some sleep of my own. The jetlag and the earlier events have tired me a lot. I love you, honey.” The four words she finally said, made me sigh in complete contempt.“Good night.” I drop the hug, and walk out of the room.
Melody never told me about giving my mom money… was that why she left to England without further notice?! How could she be this… this caring and giving? The reasons of loving her keep on increasing day by day, and I am honest when I say this: If she ever leaves me, I would literally kill myself the second after that.
