♠chapter thirty♠
CONVERGEZion exited the training room and tried to make his way back from whence he came from. The hallways and corridors that he had passed through were somewhat familiar to him, but the non ranker could not exactly pinpoint how he recalled the place.
Just then, the blue haired lad bumped into Rowe. A small frown made its way on the Aetherian Lord but it was soon replaced with a smile.
"Zion," he remarked.
"Uhh," Zion scratched his head. "Where's the exit?"
"Don't be in such a rush," said Rowe, his easy smile still gracing his face. "How about you stick around for a cup of tea?"
"Nah," Zion gave a dismissal wave. "I rather not."
"I insist," Rowe gestured toward the lounge room where the Twelve usually converged. "I'm sure you'll be needing a recap on some things, and also, we need your help."
"Help?" The Baron frowned in confusion as he followed the second ranker.
"You do know how to play instruments, if not all, yes?"
The duo entered the living room. Rowe gestured for Zion to sit, and it was next to Raziel who had crossed his legs and was playing with some strings. The orange haired lad scrunched his nose in distaste once he saw Zion.
"Ugh," said Raziel. Zion sat next to him, but not before making sure that Raziel had spotted his narrowed eyes.
"Be nice," commented Rowe and Raziel rolled his eyes.
Charles seemed to have paid no heed to the non ranker as he was still studying his map.
"Look, I have stuff to do," said Zion after the awkward silence that had ensued in the room. "And to remember, literally."
Corvan entered the room. "We need your skills in a day's time as we'll be performing at the Ball."
"Huh?" Zion was visibly confused.
Corvan did not clarify any further as there was a sudden knock at the door and he went to get it.
The ladies entered once the door was opened and the lounge room was suddenly filled with their chatters. They all seemed to carry eil bags full of things.
Tamara was the first to notice Zion. "Oh, Zion. How's your head?"
Zion shrugged. "Okay, I guess."
"Well, you all look happy," commented Raziel as he suspiciously eyed the bags they were carrying.
"Our dresses," said Aneeka as she closed the door behind her. "So, of course, we are excited."
Valeriana halted in her tracks behind Elfre. "Zion, I didn't expect you here."
"Hey," a smile was on his face when he saw her. "Yeah apparently I'm supposed to be given some tea, which I haven't gotten by the way."
Charles looked up from his map. "I'll attend to that shortly, be patient."
"Yeah, four eyes," Tamara flicked her hair. "Go get some tea. We're hungry too."
The fourth ranker fixed his glasses and blatantly ignored her comment.
"Maybe I should get to it," said Val as she left the room and went to the kitchen. She carried along her bag and once she was out of the room, she stared into it. The gold mask and mint green material lay in soft ruffles at the bottom of the bag.
