♠chapter four♠
VALION•••
Valeriana dragged herself down the stairs, heading towards her room.
She didn't know what to make of the situation that had just occurred between her and Corvan. Somehow, she felt slightly guilty, thinking it was her fault for causing his anger. But then she thought of how irrational he had been and hadn't given her a chance to explain herself before slamming the door on her face.
If only he had given her the chance to finish her statement.
Valeriana opened the door to her room, and closed it behind her once she was inside.
She went and sat on her bed, feeling scared and shaken.
Slowly, the girl raised her right hand and stared at it. Her ungloved right hand. Corvan had touched it in an attempt to make her wear the red fingerless glove.
Valeriana closed her eyes and remembered the way Corvan's aura had come into contact with hers. The first ranker seemed oblivious to the skin contact that had been made. It was usual for her to see flashes of memories whenever that happened but a particular memory had startled her and stood out vividly as compared to the rest that she had glimpsed.
Even if it was for a fleeting second, what she saw frightened her. She felt the pain, as if she was the one experiencing it.
When in real truth, it was just a memory. Corvan's memory.
The girl only prayed that Corvan wouldn't figure out that she'd seen something from his past.
She let herself fall backwards on to her bed. "Why does this direct control business have to be so complicated?"
Valeriana sighed as she brought her right hand close to her chest, as the reminiscence of Corvan's memory flashed before her closed eyes.
Valeriana had felt a strong urge to ask Corvan what happened in that particular memory before she exited the room, but the atmosphere between them wouldn't have allowed it. She wanted to know whatever happened that made him face a demon. And be stabbed by it.
But the fifth ranker was afraid of how he'd react. Maybe no one else in Corvan's life knew of what she'd just seen. Heck, she had just read Corvan's journal and that was more than enough prying into someone's private life.
Someone knocked on the door, causing Valeriana to get up from her bed and head towards it.
"Now who could that be?" She wondered.
She opened the door and got her answer, "Zion?"
(A/N: Can I hear a 'woot-woot' from Valion shippers?)
Zion smiled, "Hello to you too."
The blue haired lad sidestepped her and entered the room as if he owned it. He nodded in approval as he turned around and stared at it. "Very tidy."
Val turned to face him and frowned at his behavior. "How did you get into the residences?"
Zion gave her a bored look. "I used the windows," he walked towards her desk, "From our late night practices you should know that by now."
Val sighed, "Fine. What do you want?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He said, "I came to know if you've already made up your mind."
