You are safe now

Chapter 7

Me, Clair and Jenni were at my house, in my bedroom looking for clothes.
Today is the pack meeting and Daniel will introduced me as his mate. I am still not completely cool with all those stuff, but I think I can handle it.

"I have nothing to wear" I complained once more at my friends. "I like the cute yellow dress" Jenni said. I pulled out that yellow dress my aunt Julie had brought me. It was a nice wavy yellow dress, but it was just too....yellow. "I don't think so" Clair disagreed. "What about this one?" Clair suggested. It was a cute white dress ending mid thigh and looking actually cute. "Oh yeah, I forgot I had this" I said and Clair smiled.
 "Then go change girl" Jenni said and I run to the bathroom.

I wore the dress and my black sandals making a difference. Jenni made my hair and pulled some up and let the other down. Clair did my make up and kept it simple since its afternoon. She put some eye liner, some blush and some pink lipstick. I must say I looked....lovely.
"You look so beautiful" Clair said and Jenni agreed.

"Okay let's go" Jenni said. Since Jenni know the truth and she is fine with it Daniel said that it will be good for her to meet the pack as well.

The pack house was deep in the forest not far from the town. We stepped out of the car and headed toward the pack house, but before we even made it to the door, it opened and revealed a very happy Daniel.
"Hey" said the girls, but he didn't say anything. He just walked fast toward me smiling, 'Hey beautiful" he said and pulled me into a hug. "Hey" I murmured into his hug.

"Well, not hello to us" Jenni said, and I giggled.
 "Hello, ladies" Daniel said. "Hello Alpha" Clair said, "What's up" said Jenni. "Lets go inside everyone's waiting" he said and placed his hand at my back, pushing a little to move, but I was frozen in my place.

 "Cathy what's wrong?" he asked me, "Nothing" I said trying to sound calm. "Are you nervous?" he asked me looking into my eyes. "Maybe a little bit?" I said-asked. "There is nothing to worry about" he told me, I took a deep breath and nodded to him when I was ready.

 We walked inside the pack house. There were people everywhere, others were sitting at a huge living room and others were standing and chatting. It was like a  party. I saw little kids running outside a large window. Daniel led me outside the house while greeting some people, this whole he was holding my hand tight into his never letting me out of his sight.

Clair and Jenni were chatting while Jenni was eyeing the boys all around. Most of them winked at her, but I saw her looking at someone really intensely. "Daniel" I heard a woman scream to Daniel, "Mom, relax" he said and pulled her into a half hug since his hand was still holding mine.

"And you must be Cathy" she said, "Nice to meet you" I said and offered my hand on a handshake. We shook our hands, but she suddenly froze. "You, you are not-" she said before Daniel cut her off "She is not mother, I didn't want to tell you, because you would freak out" he said. I was just standing there looking at both of them. Daniel was standing unbelievably close to me and I found myself leaning closer to him. His mother on the other hand had already taken her hand and both of her hands were resting on either side of them while her eyes were locked to Daniel's.

"Daniel are you okay?" I whispered to him, his eyes looked away from my mother and looked at me. He smiled and placed a kiss at my forehead. "I am fine" he said. "Mom, you were right this is Cathy" he said.

"I am sorry for my reaction it was just that, you are not and-" she trailed off. I knew what she meant. I was not a werewolf and that was not something a werewolf mother wants for her werewolf child. "Mother please" said Daniel. "It is really nice meeting you" she said offering me a smile. "Nice meeting you too" I said.
 "I got to go. I will see you later" she said and gone before we even reply.

"She doesn't like me" I said, Daniel turned his whole body and looked at me. "What? Of course she likes you, I doubt there is someone that doesn't like you" he said and I raised my eyebrows. "Fine, but those people don't matter. I like you and that's it" he said and I smiled at him.

During this "party" I met a lot of people, Daniel was by my side the whole time never once leaving me. When some people were realizing that I was not like them they were frozen for a little bit, but they controlled their expressions again and smile at me. I made new friends and Daniel kept bragging at me about how good Luna I would be.

His parents were good, his father probably knew that I was human and he was okay -I think- with that. His mother was still a little careful with me, but she was nice as well. Clair was with Jenni and she didn't like it since Jenni has probably found her mate. She was looking at a boy and the boy was looking at her as well.

Even Stephanie was here, she was glaring at me every time she was looking. Daniel caught her looking at me once and with one glare from him her head was down.

I was sitting at a bench with Clair and Jenni, chatting about everything. People were passing us by and bowing their heads to me, I nodded to them and they continued their way. For the first time Daniel left me alone and went to talk to his parents. After chatting with my friends I went inside the house looking for Daniel. The office door was half open and I could see Daniel and his parents.

"Son, she is a human" His dad was saying, "I know" Daniel said. His mother was looking at him with saddens. "The King will not allow it, he thinks humans must not mate with werewolves" his mom said. I saw Daniel sighing. "I know, but I can't live without her. I love her, mom. Cathy is my mate, I love her and she loves me. I don't want to leave her just because our cruel King wants it" he said with harsh voice. "Alright, alright" his mom said. "Relax son. We are just going to make sure the King won't find out" his dad said and Daniel along his mom nodded.

I returned back to the bench where Clair and Jenni were still sitting. "Hey, didn't you find him?" Jenni asked. I sat next to them and shook my head as a no. "Clair? Who is the King?" I asked her, "The king is the King of Werewolves. He is an old, weird man" she said. "He doesn't like human mate with werewolves?" I asked her. She froze for a while until she finally took a deep breath and answered my question. "He thinks that humans are not good enough to be a werewolf's mate and that's why he...he makes werewolves dumb their human mate" she says.

"What would happen if he finds out?" I ask her, she looked at me with sad expression, "He will probably make Daniel reject you" she said.

"Hey, baby" Daniel said coming to me. "Hey" I say and get up to hug him. "What's wrong?" he asks me, "Nothing, I just love you" I say and he froze. "I love you too" he whispers and kisses me. "Come on, lovers I am bored here" Jenni says and we all laugh. "You can go, the party is over" Daniel said and Jenni sighed with relief.
"Then I can go home" I say and Daniel frowns. "Let's go somewhere together" Daniel says and I nod accepting his offer.

We leave Clair and Jenni and we walk out of the house. "Alpha" a young man called. "What is it Jimmy?" Daniel asks him,"There is a letter for you" the boy says and Daniel takes the letter.

He opens it and his eyes open up wide. "Shit"
