You are safe now

Chapter 18

Her hand was on my mouth before I finish calling her name.
She put a small cloth with something wet on it in front of my mouth and nose. I tried to breathe, but that only resulted in me passing away.

Dark. That's what you see when you faint. You don't think, you don't blink, you just faint. It's like falling asleep without your will . I tried to open my eyes and I did. I was in a small room with only one window up high, I could hear voices, but it was too hard for me to focus on what they were saying. The only thing I could make out it was that they were arguing.

"I'm going to see if she's awake" I heard Stephanies voice. Oh God, she is coming in. I thought about pretending to be asleep, but that won't benefit me. So, I just waited for her. She bursted into the rat hole I am in.
"I see you are awake" she says with bitter voice. "I'm glad that you can see" I say equally bitter.

"You will speak better to me" she hisses, "Why should I do that?" I ask her. "Because I-", "Stephanie" a loud male voice ringed from somewhere outside the room. I know that voice, was my first thought. "The King awaits" she says and that was it. I realised who she is with...

The King?

My mind was going round and round. I could not believe what I was seeing, was the King really woking with Stephanie in abducting me? Why would he do something like that? 
"You-" I started saying, "I understand your surprise, Cathy. But, you must understand this is a necessity" he says. He shakes his head and with a slight barely noticeable movement he points at  Stephanie.
I frown at him not understanding the secret message behind it.

"We must do it now" Stephanie tells the King, "What do you want from me. What have I ever done to you" I yell at her,
"You took everything away from me. He noticed you. He never wanted me, I was nothing to him all because of you" she started yelling louder and louder. Her eyes were changing from her normal color to black, an indication her wolf was fighting for control.

My own wolf was fighting me. She wanted to be let out, she knew why Stephanie was doing this. She wanted to take my place as the Alpha Female, like she has threatened so many times before she will do. I just never expected from her to do it, let alone have the King with her.
"Why are you helping her do this?" I cried out to the King.

"Werewolves always help their family." he says.

"Their family?" I ask, "I am the King's cousin" she says dryly. I shake my head at her, "Then why do you torture me? If you are so important" I cry out.
"Important? I don't even have a title and my mate is some low life Omega. That is not the life I want for me, but with Daniel I will be an Alpha too. An alpha...yes" she whispers the last part. 

For a moment I can see Stephanie clearly, her eyes are dilated, she  seems out of character, like she is not really sure what to do. She just does it.
The King stands there emotionless staring at me. I don't know what he is doing, but for a moment there he has on his face the look Daniel has when he has a conversation through the mind link.

Daniel's POV

A large search party was sent into the woods to look for Cathy. I only let her out of my sight for a minute and I can't find her the next. My wolf is angry at myself and himself for not paying  closer attention to our mate, but I could never imagine that she would go missing with so many people around.
Every furniture was broken because of my wrath, people were locked into their rooms scared of how I react to any news. I was currently in my office pacing up and down. Clair and Jenni were both going out of their minds, but we could do nothing but wait. 

We've been searching for a week. My wolves have searched every possible part of the forest, but came back with nothing. Now they are out again.
Suddenly, I felt a strong presence invading my mind. I had to sit down, the presence was increadibly strong.

East side of the forest. A mile away the grand oak tree. She is safe. I don't know for how long.

My wolf immediately recognised the voice to be the King. Before I could eveen make a move as a human, my beast side burst through the window heading directly to the location. I was running in speed I had never before, but I didn;t care. I was going to save my mate. 
I stopped outside an old cabin. I din't even know it existed in my land. I circled it and concetrated, trying to hear and understand who was inside. I could hear Cathy crying and yelling, another heart beat and a woman's voice was yellng back at her. Immediately I knew it was Stephanie. That annoying high piched voice. I growled loudly letting Cathy know I was here to save her and for Stephanie to be afraid. I was not going to let that go.

Out of instict I turned back into my human form and burged into the cabin. Cathy was in a corner with her head between her hands while Stephanie was yelling something about her beeing worthless. What shocked me the most was the fact the King was also there, just a few feet behind Stephanie paying close attention to her. He was not moving or making any attempt to save my mate. I also growled at him, feeling betrayed y my own leader. 

He spared me one emotionless glance and turned his attention back at Stephanie. 
She looked at me with her eyes turned black, her wolf had control and smiled sickenly sweet at me. "You came for me" she whispered. 

Daniel, she is sick. Cathy's voice said to me,  take a good look at her. She is mentaly sick and she is related to the King. Power and love, that's what she wants, Cathy explained to me through our mind link. 

I did what Cathy instructed me and took a good look at her. She was right, Stephanie seemed out of her mind. "You came for me, my mate" she whispers. 
Before I could reply, the King leaped forward hitting her on her head and she fell down unconcious. 
"You" I pointed and growled towards the King, "Daniel wait" Cathy stopped me by hugging me tight.

"I got you, its okay" I told her just before she passed out. 


The pack doctor was attending to Cathy, checking her pulse making sure everything was running smooth with her and that the drug was out of her system. I was standing beside her thinking what my next move would be. The King had flee away with Stephanie, moments after that he had informed that some of his people would take her away. A wolf doctor was already attending to her mental needs. 
Jenni was mad at him for helping Stephanie but I would let them figure it out. Although I was mad, no increadibly angry at her I could not overlook that she was also sick. Her parents were sent to the Palace to be with her while she is looked after by the doctor there. 

"She is going to be fine Alpha" the pack doctor informed me, I thanked him and took his place next to my mate. My hands were holding hers appreciating being close to her again. She stirred, an indication the drug was out of her system. She opened her eyes, searched for me and when her eyes focused on me she smiled widely and with sudden moves she was into my arms.
"I missed you " - "I love you" we both said at the same time.
We smiled at each other, "What the hell happened" she asks, "I will explain later. For now, how are you feeling?" I ask her.
"Perfectly fine" she replied, I nodded my head and helped her sit up.

"Where is?" 

"Away from us, there is nothing to worry about "

"Can we get out of here and into our room?" she asks, I smile gently at her and nodd, "Yes. Let's get out of here" I tell her and with that I gather her into my arms and out of the hospital room.

Cathy's POV

Later on the evening, every single person in the pack house stepped by to wish me to get well.  I was nice and thanked every single one of them, including my family and friends who were extremely worried. My parents also stopped by and stayed for a large amound of time, they hugged me good and kissed me,as well as congratulating me for my transformation.

It wasn't until midnight that me and Daniel were alone. "Finally" Daniel whispered when we were both laying silently onto his bed, our sides were touching, the heat of our bodies high. Suddenly I knew I wanted to always be with him. He is our mate,  a voice inside of me says and I smile at the thought.
My mate. 

My man. 

"I love you" we both said suddenly, we looked at each other and leaned in. Our lips met into the most passionate kiss.
