i hope i met you expectations

the world was much different now. after a nuclear explosion that sent out a sleeping chemical, people have claimed to have what we call 'super powers'. 

it started with one girl. after the nuclear bomb went off and millions around the world were put to sleep, camps were built and those people were set into pods. to keep them alive and still functional. experiments and tests were run, and professionals began to notice small changes in the people's body. of course more investigating was involved, but they figured the changes in them weren't harmful. it didn't seem to hurt anyone. 

fast forward a couple hundred years later, and the first person woke up. her name was bordie. and not only did she send the world into storm from being able to wake up but she also seemed to have unnatural abilities. something was off about her when she woke up, her eyes were silver. which definitely isn't a normal eye color. when doctors opened her pod to ask her question and run more tests, she seemed to get anxious from all the people. one thing lead to another and the people around her were dead, black ooze dripping from their mouths. she was able to escape, and went into hiding for years. 

more supers, as the humans called them, began waking up and discovering their 'powers'. humans were furious there was other beings at a higher power then them, they wanted to take them down. destory them. supers had to go into hiding and keep away from humans. or else they'd be beaten and most likely killed. a group of supers decided to fight back, causing riots in streets. creating destruction. 

one thing lead to another, and all hell broke loose. a war seemed to have been started, supers vs humans. it went on for years. and when humans couldn't fight anymore they offered a peace treaty. which the supers gladly agreed to, they were sick of the fighting as well. 

now they all try to live in peace. of course it's still hard for supers, some humans can still be against them. so most of them hide, buying contacts to hide their silver eyes. and doing anything to be more human.

matt sighed as he walked down the steps of the misfits house. it was early in the morning, and he was awaken by ruckus downstairs. his idiot friends were playing something on the tv and yelling at each other. the brunette couldn't be bothered to ask what they were doing as he went to make coffee. 

it was weird for the others to be awake this early, especially matt. he normally sleeps until 1am or 2am. he can't help it though, it's natural for him to sleep during the day. 

matt is the only super in the house, of course the others don't know that. matt never wants to tell them. he's afraid he'll be kicked out and ripped from his only friends. 

his so called 'power' is darkness, although he likes to refer to it as a curse. he's mostly up all night and sleeps almost all day. at first the other boys were suspicious about it, but matt just told them he has really bad insomnia. now they don't bring it up. the brunette can also manipulate shadows, creating shapes and sometimes figures out of dark matter. he has even learned how to create a portal, jumping into it and then appearing where ever he wants. about a year ago when matt got sick, he threw up black ink. and even made the substance appear from his hands. which he had fun with cause he made figuers out of it and acted out scenarios. but that only happens when he is sick.
