the bitter taste of alcohol flooded through jay's mouth. it almost made him gag because the feeling of it going down his throat. despite the cheap whiskey, jay felt pretty good. he had enough alcohol in his body to make his mind numb, and the music playing had nice bass. he liked the feeling of it shaking his rib cage; as weird as that sounds.

although the moment of happiness was quickly swiped away from him in seconds. the kiwi noticed all the couple that were happily in their own conversations. reminding him of just how alone he is.

just a week ago he was with who he thought was the love of his live. the girl was gorgeous, nice blond hair and stunning blue eyes. they had been together for about a year before she disappeared for a couple of days and showed up pregnant with someone else's baby. jay didn't want to be in that mess so he left as quickly as possible.

and now he is alone in a club; drinking as much as it takes to forget a little bit.

the kiwi hasn't gotten much sleep in the past week, so the alcohol helped him be more awake. he didn't like sleeping alone, the coldness of the other side of the bed kept him up. jay tried placing a pillow there, hell he even brought home a girl the other day. but nothing seemed to fill the empty space, in both the bed and his heart.

the waiter came by and handed him another shot of whiskey, "from the gentleman over there." he said as he pointed to a man on the other side of the bar. who was looking at jay like he was fresh meat. jay swallowed nervously and waved at the guy, who took that as a sign to come over. jay watched as the guy walked over to him; a devilish smirk on his face.

"hey cutie, i saw you were alone and figured you could use company, yeah?" the man had an australian accent and seemed to exaggerate it a bit, probably a flirting thing.

jay cleared his throat before taking a shot, "actually i was just leaving but thank you."

as jay went to stand the man grabbed his arm and held on tightly, then stood up too. jay winced and tried to wiggle away from the strangers grip.

"i bought you a drink, the least you can do is come over for a little bit," the guy growled as his grip on jay's arm got tighter.

jay's brain went into panic mode, this man was about to rape him. and poor jay was to intoxicated to fight back.

"please stop, you're hurting me." jay's words seemed helpless, because the man began to drag him out of the club and to the taxi lane. his grip was still strong, leaving jay's struggles helpless.

"let go of me asshole!" jay yelled as he tugged his own arm. the guy just rolled his eyes and  pulled jay closer, causing him to squeak.

jay was a small guy, there is no way he'd be able to break this guys grip. if jay was able to break free and run he'd probably trip over his own feet anyways.

some bystanders must of noticed jay's struggles and made their way over. there was about  five of them and they all seemed to young to be at a bar.

"hey! let go of him!" one guy shouted as he pushed the guy away from jay, causing jay to stumble backwards with him.

the guy let go of jay and shoved him to the ground. his body came in contact with the hard cement. as his hands scrapped against the cement his drunken state seemed to disappear. jay was suddenly aware of everything that was happening. he watched from the ground as the group of guys fought of the guy, who waved down a taxi and left quickly. jay felt so useless then.

a very tall guy came into view and helped jay up with a soft smile on his lips, "you okay?"

jay looked down at his bleeding hands, rubbing them together to rid of the rocks. "yeah i think so."

"good, glad we got to you before anything happened. who knew what he would of done." the blond haired stranger laughed a little bit. "im cameron by the way, these are my friends. toby, mason, swagger, and ryan."

jay gave them all a small wave before he shoved his hands in his hoodie pocket. he was still really shaken up from the whole incident and it was hard to get words out. "jay."

the cameron guy hummed and grabbed jay's hand gently, "how about you come over to mine for a bit? you seem really shaken up."

jay shook his head. no way was he going to a strangers house after what just happened.

"well at least let me order you an uber. and maybe give me your number so i know you get home safely?" cameron asked with hopefulness in his eyes.

"sure."

after exchanging everything, the uber arrived and jay had never been more relived to go home. he definitely wasn't going to go out much anymore, that was too scary.

the kiwi shot a text to cameron once he made it into his house.

great, glad you're okay. sorry that happened by the way. maybe i can take you to lunch tomorrow so you'll feel a little better?

after reading the text jay's never smiled bigger in his life. this cameron guy was really sweet, and didn't seem like the murder type. jay texted him back, agreeing to the lunch date.

can't wait to see you x

jay smiled softly as he made his way to bed. today was exhausting and laying down was nice. the emptiness of the bed didn't bother him for now, mostly because he was thinking about the lunch date with cameron tomorrow.
