I'm writing this while being half asleep 😄 I hate watching Jimin cry 😢
It was the hardest day for Park Jimin at college, he couldn't keep his eyes opened at the lectures and got scolded two times. Besides, it was obvious he was upset. Hoseok was really worried about him and asked why the abrupt change, which Jimin only answered with a dry "I don't want to talk about it." Naturally, Hoseok asked how his meeting with the girl was and he bet he heard Jimin mumble something like "shit" and "worst time ever" so Hoseok just kept quiet hoping for his friend to get better.
Hoseok knew something strange happened to his friend years ago, and sometimes he tried to figure out what it was, from thinking that maybe Jimin was actually gay to thinking maybe his dick was cut and that's why he became celibate. That's how Hoseok's mind worked.
Eventually he discarded both options because Jimin never gave a sign of being gay -more like Hoseok never realized because he was always distracted- and Hoseok had watched his dick when they went to pee together, so both of his options were wrong.
When Jimin was finally at home he wanted to sleep so bad since his professors didn't let him. He took off his shirt, and before going to his room he stopped at the fridge for something to eat. He hadn't eaten in the whole day and yesterday he just ate lunch, so his stomach was completely empty, to the point where he started feeling weak. It happened often to him since his body was thin and he liked to exercise, but he didn't eat properly.
He spotted some food, but then his eyes landed on a few beers. He grabbed three because it was Friday and he wasn't planning doing any homework or anything in general.
After getting the beers he remembered something he was craving for the whole week: Wine. He watched Yoongi drinking wine every single day and it would be a lie if Jimin said he didn't want to drink also, but his responsible self didn't let him do it on week days.
He went to the place where Yoongi saved his bottles of wine and grabbed his favorite one.
"If Yoongi gets mad, I'll pay him for it." It was not a good excuse to take something that wasn't his, but Jimin was feeling down that day, so he didn't care anymore.
He drank the whole afternoon until it got dark. He fell asleep at times because his body was exhausted and it needed to rest, but it also needed food so bad and Jimin wasn't giving it either of them. He fell asleep on the couch and woke up, drank more and fell asleep. He kept like that until he heard the door.
His mind was half asleep [just like me rn], but recognized Yoongi immediately. The latter was glaring at the younger with shock in his face.
"Are you drunk or asleep?" Yoongi asked with concern.
"A little bit of both, but not drunk, kinda tipsy." Jimin really believed his statement, but the truth was that he was completely wasted. The alcohol had taken over him from the beginning because his stomach was empty and he needed sleep. His body was destroyed. But his heart felt worse.
His glassy eyes stared at Yoongi, who hadn't moved from his spot in front of him, in front of the couch where Jimin was sitting, almost laying. His eyes weren't glassy because he wanted to cry -even though he truly wanted to- they were glassy as an effect that alcohol had in him when he drank too much. But Yoongi found those eyes very sad.
"Are you ok?" Yoongi approached him to lift his chin, and looked at him in the eyes.
"Sit." Jimin asked while patting the place on the couch beside him. Yoongi did so, and they were sitting right beside each other in silence while Jimin looked at Yoongi directly, completely focused on his face. Jimin wasn't feeling shy anymore. He wasn't feeling wild or anything close to it either. He felt down, and for the first time, he wanted to talk and started to do so.
"Why aren't you loosening your tie?"
Yoongi chuckled at such silly question after a very dense moment of Jimin examining him.
"I forgot since I was more worried about your state."
"My state? And what's my state according to what you see?" The blond's voice was so soft. "Sad and miserable? Pathetic?" Yoongi was taken aback by the question.
"I was going to say drunk, but I guess sad works too." He waited for a few seconds. "Are you feeling miserable?"Jimin chuckled this time and shook his head, causing the dizziness to come back.
"No, I was just exaggerating." Yoongi felt a little relieved after hearing it, but he was still worried.
"Then tell me why are you drunk and why do you look at the verge of crying?"
Jimin laughed out loud as if it was something funny and his laughing voice was cute to Yoongi. Such a kid, he thought.
"I always look at the verge of crying when I'm drunk. I don't know why my eyes get red and glassy. And I'm drunk because it's Friday and I've been craving for alcohol this whole shitty week." He said with a smile.
"Why was it a shitty week?"
"It's a boring story." Jimin lied.
"We have all night." Yoongi said with an honest heart. He was willing to listen to the boy if it made him feel better.
And Jimin just wanted to talk. He told Yoongi about the way he felt about everything, except the part that was actually making him feel upset. He told him about how stressed he was with college, always ahead, always doing homework, essays, his table full of papers and books, his professors scolding him that day, his pressure to get perfect grades otherwise his parents wouldn't pay for his studies and his living anymore. Then he expressed his feelings towards his best friend.
"I miss living with Hoseok." Yoongi played offended and Jimin laughed out loud. That beautiful laugh that made his eyes disappear. Yoongi had already started drinking with Jimin, he didn't realize all the glasses he had drank because he was too focused on Jimin's words. "And I have to admit I might be a bit jealous about his relationship with his girlfriend and, hell! I'm jealous that he gets to fuck every night." He shamelessly admitted.
Where's the shy boy? He's acting more like the Jimin I knew, Yoongi wondered after hearing his confession but he only smiled, because Jimin was cute with his half closed eyelids.
"You know you can do that here too." Yoongi reminded him. "You just did that yesterday."
"Oh, don't make fun of me. You know that was a disaster. We didn't even get to do anything."
"Well, I didn't know that. I thought it just had a bad ending, which would be pretty understandable now that you're so shy."
"Now?" Jimin tilted his head.
"You weren't like that years ago. You were the loudest kid." Yoongi finally admitted as he laughed quietly. Alcohol making him tipsy.
He remembers me, Jimin panicked. For a moment, his drunkenness abandoned his body because of the fright about his former crush remembering him. He couldn't say anything, he didn't know what to say, but Yoongi didn't mind keep speaking his thoughts.
"I was very surprised when you came here and you were quiet all the time, I dare to say shy. I thought it'd be only for the first day, but you kept acting like that the whole week and I realized you're other person now. You don't talk, you don't laugh. You changed. I thought we would never talk again, but here you are, talking to me." Yoongi looked at him straight in the eyes. "And even if it's not a noisy conversation like the ones you used to have when you were younger, I'm glad we're finally speaking again, and that you're relaxed right now even though it's due to the alcohol." Yoongi's words hit Jimin like a truck and they were coming out like a waterfall because of the alcohol in Yoongi's system.
Jimin took his glass and drank to the bottom at once. Yoongi followed him.
"Did you know it was me all the time?" Jimin's head was spinning.
"Hoseokie just told me he had a friend that needed a roommate, he didn't tell me your name, so I didn't know it was you until I saw you. I recognized your face immediately, but pretended I didn't know you. But how can I forget that baby face that was all red when you confessed to me?" Yoongi smiled bitterly at the memory. "Especially now, you look like the Jimin of that night. Completely drunk and with your glassy eyes. The only difference is that your hair back then was pink."
