So, this is about Taekook and I didn't know how to name the chapter.
As cautious as Taehyung could be, he closed the front door of his apartment silently in order to go unnoticed by Jungkook just in case he was still awake. It was unlikely since it was past midnight and Jungkook never stayed up waiting for Taehyung to come back from work.
So it took him by surprise to turn around and see Jungkook sitting on the couch in the middle of the dark room. He just was sat there doing nothing, wearing a frown on his face. In fact, that's what he did the whole noon until late night after what Yoongi told him. He sat there, overthinking.
Taehyung stayed still by the door.
"We need to talk." Jungkook finally spoke and patted the couch for Taehyung to sit beside him. Taehyung just nodded and sat there, a little far from Jungkook to the latter's disliking. Jungkook was thinking that maybe Taehyung was still mad at him, but he was glad that he agreed to talk it out.
"I know this might upset you even more, but I really need to know what's getting you so mad at me. I want you to be blunt about it because I feel blind in this situation." Jungkook sighed. "Please, tell me."
Taehyung tensed for a second and then just shrugged. He really needed to talk it out.
"I already told you when I left the apartment this morning." He began speaking. "Also, I... Well, I feel bad for always being your second choice. It seems as if you never notice all the things I do for you. And, honestly, I'm so done with watching you easily fall in love and then drown in self-pity when things don't work out, just like with Yoongi and Jimin." Taehyung shook his head, feeling hurt again but keeping his always cool face as if he wasn't bothered. "You only think about yourself that you don't want them to be happy unless you're in the picture. That blinds you so much that you never even tried to look around and realize you're loved."
Was that a confession? It felt like that for both of them. They both stayed silent for a while until Jungkook encouraged himself to ask what was on his mind all day.
"So it's true." Jungkook finally looked at his friend. "Do you like me, Taehyung?"
Taehyung almost gasped. How could Jungkook know? He was always so oblivious and dismissive about Taehyung's feelings until this morning. What could have happened to make him finally realize? Taehyung wondered. But he didn't dare to answer. He had hidden his feelings for so long, and he wasn't planning on confessing when Jungkook was still heartbroken about not being loved neither by his teacher or Jimin.
"That... that's not what I said." Taehyung stood up from the couch and walked away to reach the bathroom and hide there, but Jungkook stood up at the same time and grabbed the elder by his wrist, pulling him close, so they are chest to chest.
Sometimes Taehyung forgets how strong his cute Jungkook can be. Still, he feels uncomfortable being pressed against his chest, not because he doesn't like to feel it, but because Taehyung never gets anywhere near Jungkook after work because he knows he smells strongly like sex. That's why he always appreciated that Jungkook was sleeping when he came back home.
To his horror, Jungkook sniffed the air furrowing his eyebrows and it's just because the smell is so strong. It's clear that Taehyung worked really hard that night.
"Let go. I need to take a shower." Taehyung tried to leave.
"Don't push me away." Jungkook almost pleaded and, for some reason, it sent Taehyung on edge.
"You're the one who always pushes me away! You even lied to Jimin that one time you went clubbing with him. He told me he wanted me to come over and you told him that day I had to work... but that was my free day and you didn't even bother to ask me." Taehyung just let his anger spill and released his hand from Jungkook's grip.
Jungkook didn't know what to say. He felt guilty and, when he tried to speak, Taehyung beat him to it.
"It's always been like that, you push me away as long as you like someone, but when you feel lonely you always come back to me. It feels like I am the only one interested in the other here, maybe you don't even know me anymore."
"I know you better than I know myself Taehyung."
"You don't even know which semester I'm studying! I believe you don't know which program I'm in. God! You don't even know where I work and the truth is that you never cared."
"Tae, that's not true." Jungkook bit his lip as he tried to remember. "I-I know you're in the fifth semester of literature..."
"Sixth, but nice guess."
"And your work..." Jungkook panicked because it was obvious he didn't know. Perhaps Taehyung was right and he was trash of a friend.
"Just forget it. I need to shower." Taehyung walked away when he realized Jungkook was trying hard to remember information he didn't now.
"Tae, wait." Jungkook got closer, trying to stop Taehyung from leaving, but instead, he sniffed his neck. He couldn't help it. The smell was there, so Jungkook leaned forward until his nose was brushing Taehyung's skin. It sent shivers down his spine. "W-Why do you smell like sex?"
Taehyung slightly tensed, trying to remember to keep unbothered and Jungkook couldn't stop the pang of jealousy he felt then. Why was he even jealous of Taehyung getting laid if that was the case? Well, just because it's Taehyung. And, in Jungkook's mind, Taehyung never had sex and never did relationships. Taehyung was right in implying that he was too spoiled by Taehyung, who always took care of him to the point where Jungkook never realized Taehyung had a life too and might have had his affairs.
"You had sex with someone?" He asked, feeling sad. "Are you seeing someone? You never told me you were with someone! I thought you told me everything" He sounded broken.
Taehyung was so mad that he didn't care anymore about keeping his secret. He answered Jungkook as he scoffed.
"Actually, I have had more sex than you can imagine. I have sex almost every day, but you never notice because you don't give a fuck about anything I do!"
Jungkook felt his heart break and he didn't know why. He always took for granted that Taehyung was going to be his forever and just right now he was experiencing a reality check. Tae might be with someone else.
"You what? No way. You're always at work or here. How could you have time to have so much sex? You're speaking nonsense." He sounded almost pleading.
"Surprise, Kookie. My job is being a fucking stripper and, sometimes, I get paid extra money for fucking. Now if you excuse, I need to shower."
Jungkook was left in the dark room feeling gloomy and, if he had been drowning in self-pity before because neither Yoongi nor Jimin liked him back, he felt even worse now that he knew his only real friend might be in love and maybe he will eventually stop caring about Jungkook, but Jungkook needed his attention. He needed Taehyung.
