I starred at my phone confused, what did he mean it was his mom's idea. What was her ideas, suing my dad or just getting in contact in general?

Me:
What was your mom's idea?

I sent the text and I heard the front door open, I knew it was Grayson so I got up off the couch and met him in the kitchen.

"Hey beaut-"

"My brother texted me." I said, pushing him backwards and closer to the door so ally couldn't hear us. I'll tell her eventually but for now, the less people that know, the better.

"Why are you being quiet? And pushing me into the hall?"

"Because Ally's here." I whispered.

"You haven't told her?" He asked. I shook my head no. "What did he say?"

I took my phone out of my pocket and handed it to him so he could read the messages.

"What does he mean that it was his mom's idea?" He asked, handing me my phone back.

"Your guess is as good as mine." I said, sticking it back in my sweatpants pocket.

"Did you get Chinese food?" I asked changing the subject.

"Yeah-" he said, opening up the bag on the counter. "Do you think you means it was her idea to sue your dad?"

"I mean maybe, what else could he-" I heard the office door open so stopped what I was about to say. "I got a 91 on my quiz."

"That's fantastic." He said, noticing Ally walking closer to us.

"Did you come up with an order you want these uploaded yet? I know you want the q and a up first so I've been working on that but what else?" Ally asked, leaning against the counter.

"I made a list. I think it's in the top drawer of the desk." I said, taking a bite of a crab Rangoon.

"Gotcha." She said nodded and taking one of my egg rolls. "Well I'll let you get back to whatever conversation it was that you were having."

"I'll be in there to help in a little while." I said, turning around to watch her walk into the office. She gave me a thumbs up and shut the door. I turned back around a looked at Grayson.

"So Yeah, it had to be her idea to sue my dad. But why? More importantly, why now?"

"Maybe she got into a situation and needs money." Grayson said shrugging and taking a bit of his chicken.

"Maybe." I sighed. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I took it out to look at it.

"Did he answer you?" Grayson said, trying to look over the counter at my phone.

"No. It's just my dad asking if Caleb got in touch with me." I replied yes to him and the put my phone on the counter and continued to eat my food.

We both finished eating and walked to the office to keep Ally company, also I needed to keep my mind occupied and working seems to help with that.

"You should try more dramatic editing." Grayson suggested because this part of the video needed something but we couldn't figure out what.
