Chapter 23 - The Event on Road

Amane's POV:

It was easy said than done. We were all too excited and hyper to accomplish everything that we forgot to have a check of everything.

"Shit! I can't find my wallet. It must be on the kitchen counter...." Emily told with a big sigh. "I forgot my-" as Edward was about to speak, the car broke down.

"Hey! What's wrong?" My mom asked the driver. "I'll see what happened." The driver got down and started checking the tires.

In the mean time, I took out my phone to message my friends.

Me: Guysss.....

Me: I'm so sorry I couldn't tell bye to all of you. I'm not sure when I'll be able to meet you all again. But right now due to some problems, I won't be coming to school. Hopefully it's just for a short while.

After sending this, I closed my phone. "Hey! I'm tired. Where's he?" I asked loud hoping someone would answer. "Where's who?" Calvin asked. I pointed to the drivers seat indicating the driver.

"He's checking the tir-" My brother looked out and, "Shit no! He left." Calvin yelled and immediately got down of the car.

As mom looked around, she saw that the driver ditched us in the middle of a road taking the car keys with him.

All of a sudden, Mom yelled."Calvin, No! Get in!" But he didn't listen.

"I'm coming. I'll just see around!" He told and started walking. Mom started shaking. "Calvin!!!" Her eyes welled with tears.

Ding! I heard a notification in my phone but didn't bother right now.

Mom started unbuckling her seat belt to get down when Edward pulled her back. "I'll bring him." He told.

"What's happening?" I asked suddenly fear increasing in me. "Amy, it's fine. Take care of the twins." Ed told. "Sis, take care of mom and all." Emily nodded. And then Ed opened the door and jumped out of the car.

I was hugging the twins looking at my brothers. Ed casually walked and went close to Calvin. He murmured something and after that both started running towards the car as if they were in a marathon racing to win.

I started laughing at that sight. Seeing me, luckily everyone's mood became better and all were laughing.

But after a moment, it wasn't a laughing matter anymore. As they were running to the car, there was a gun shot in Calvin's direction which he just missed. So that's what mom noticed... Now it made sense.

Calvin just hoped in the driver seat and Ed back. "Shit! The keys aren't here." Calvin told out of breathe. Ed was sitting front of me breathing heavily. I still laughed at them but seeing Calvin's expression, I felt bad. "I'm sorry..." I told. He chuckled.

"Don't worry, Cupcake! Laugh and enjoy!" He smiled at me through the rear view mirror. I looked outside the window feeling sad.

Speaking of cupcake, it reminded me of the time when I was in death or life situation and Noah saved me. That time he had called me cupcake. But he never calls me usually... I don't find him to be such a guy. I really wonder who was it that saved me. Blake or Noah? I doubt Blake because he literally had the black mole in the same place of the person who saved me. But when I called out Noah, he replied....

Arghh!! Frustrated at myself, I snapped out of my day dream.

We were sitting there in the car searching for a way either to move ahead or go back. "I don't have balance..." Emily told. "No charge!" Mom's turn. "I don't have my phone!" Ed groaned in frustration. "Don't stress out yourself, Son!" Mom told him as she caressed his hands in a soothing manner.
