My Green Eyed Drummer

Chapter 16

You could tell that it was performance time. Everyone was on edge sitting with there instruments and sections quietly. Lexa walks up to me and whispers, "Hey 5 minutes till performance go get a good seat." She smiles and walks back to her section.

I leave to the bleachers and the football team is warming up on the field. You hear really loud cheering then the drums. There cadence for entering. The marching band is walking in a line of doubles with the drums in the front playing some rhythm. They look so together. All walking in one motion. All the drums playing the same thing at the same time. It's so cool. Lexa is in the front because of her quads and she is looking great.

They play all the way to the bleachers. The drummers put their stands and drums up and the rest all get in their spot in the bleachers.

The National Anthem comes on and we stand in silents. Then the game begins and the band just starts jumping around playing all they know. They all look so happy making the crowed cheer at the team and them. Lexa looks so happy so care free. It's like she is with her brother. She truly loves this sport.

It's half time and the game is 7-0. We are loosing but it's time for the Marching band to cheer the crowed up. They all get onto the field. The drummers don't have their drums attached to them. The drums are to the side and the drummers are standing by a curtain that has a throne right next to it. It's a really cool throne with wood and spears coming out of it. On the other side of the chosen area for this performance with is only the middle of the field is another curtain. The front ensemble starts the show with a marimba playing a beautiful peace. Lexa walks out from behind the curtain and everyone bows. This is showing that she is the leader of those group of people.

She sits in the throne and pulls out a drum stick. She spins it around like it is a knife. Then a climax happens and you hear a loud boom from bass drums. The marching bass drums run out from behind the curtain on the grounders side and starts playing their part of the music. While this loud booms are happening with the bass drums the curtain in the other side of the stage area is opening. There is a ship that looks kinda destroyed. This must be the drop ship. You hear a voice. "You were sent here to see if the Earth is habitable again. Be strong. Be safe."  This shows you that the Sky people were sent from space. It makes the grounders wonder if they are a threat or not. You see Octavia walk out with her trumpet. All music stops. She looks around confused. She stops in her tracts and pulls her trumpet up to playing position and blows hard.  All the other sky people run out with their instruments raised high playing the scene.

They march to get into a star shape and play there song. It's happy and joyful. They had just reached the ground. They are extremely excited and you could see it in all of their faces and through the music they are playing. At the end of the scene the sky people start looking around. Now it switches to the dancers they all run up to Lexa and look like they are telling her something drastic. She nods her head and they run and start dancing while the front ensemble plays. They must have told her that the Sky people are there. Lexa must want them to keep an eye on the Sky people. They are dancing around the sky people whom are looking around and celebrating, not noticing the dancers.

Then Bellamy comes out with his trumpet solo. The dancers look scared and threatened. They must think the solo is a symbol of power. They must think he wants to over throw their commander. The front ensemble continues the music while the dancers run back to Lexa and explain to her what they heard. She looks shocked and sends out the snares. The snares run kneel down and when they stand up their drum is on them. The other drummers including Lexa are getting there drums on too but the snares start first with their part. They start circling the sky people. Aka the woodwinds. Then the bass drums come and spice it up a bit. The music is loud and scary. This must be their war. A war with music. The Sky people fight back and when they play the snares and bass drums back way.

The Sky people are playing and the snare line and bass line are playing at the same time. Then they get interrupted but the quads Lexa and Lincoln who have the coolest part. BOOM...........  Everyone goes silent when the quads hit the loud note.  BOOM..........  the quads get closer to the scene. BOOM........... then they start on a complicated part. Arms crossing arms. Legs bending. Loud accents. The Sky people are fighting back. The whole drum line plays. Now they are facing each other on opposite sides. They are all playing at the same time. The music is loud and strong. They all sound amazing. Like one. While they are playing you can see people fall down. Some from the front ensemble. Some from the drum line. Some from the Sky people. They just fall like they are dead. I mean the drums are a little more carful but they still fall.

Finally it's just Lexa and Octavia. Octavia is blowing her horn and Lexa is fighting back with the same rhythm. Then Octavia falls to her knees still playing. But obviously messing up. Now. Lexa's solo. Lexa walks over to Octavia and stands behind her. Octavia, whom is still on her knees, has stopped playing with her head down and arms limped. Lexa starts. Her arms are flying. Her head is nodding. She is going so fast. She herself looks fierce. She is showing her teeth clenching them together. Finally she hits a loud accent. BOOM. Lexa takes her foot and kicks Octavia's back to the ground. Obviously she didn't actually touch her but Octavia fell and it was over. The crowd was going crazy! People were standing and jumping. People were chanting names like Lexa and Octavia cause they were the stars of the show. Lexa tapped her drum and everyone stood up and started moving there instruments and the curtains off the field so the team could return to their game.

1126 words. Wow. Sorry if this chapter was a little confusing it is really hard to write down a performance that you have in your head but I hope you understand were I was going with this. Also no wanted to say that my brother is now reading this book and he has never watched the hundred and doesn't really know Clexa. So wish him luck! Anyways happy Easter!!
