Jacob's POV

It's late at night, almost 11. I'm currently laying in the hammock that's tied between two trees in my backyard. I came outside to get some fresh air and just look at the stars.

My parents are both out of town right now. I'm the only one home. I just texted my girlfriend, y/n to come over to cure my boredom, and she said she was on her way so now I'm just trying to kill time until she arrives.

I close my eyes, feeling the cool summer breeze of the night tickle my skin. I feel goosebumps starting to form across the length of my arms. I'm shirtless with grey sweatpants on. My hair is a fluffy mess, due to the fact that I didn't bother to put any gel in it today.

I suddenly hear the back door open. I opened up my eyes, seeing y/n standing there. A smile tugs at the corners of my lips. She spots me, and although the only thing illuminating the night was the moon, I could see a smile spread across her lips.

"Come join me, love." I smiled. Y/n began walking over to me, her footsteps light.

"Are you sure I can fit?" She asked, a slight giggle in her voice.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Of course you can. Come lay with me." I opened up my arms. I watched as she let out a silent laugh as she slid off her white vans. I took a second to scan over the rest of her outfit. Y/n was dressed a light pink off the shoulder top and high waisted jean shorts. I'm no fashion expert, believe me, but I think the outfit was perfect for the summer night.

Y/n slowly lowered her body down onto the hammock. It smoothly rocked back and forth as she rested her weight on top of me. I pulled her back into my chest, squeezing her tightly. We laid there in silence for a few minutes, just taking in the moment. Everything about this was perfect. The absolute purest form of perfection.

She was wrapped in my arms, gazing at the stars, feeling the summer breeze against our skin. The hammock slowly rocked back and forth at a slow rhythm, barely even noticeable.

"I love you." I heard y/n's voice suddenly speak, her tone at almost a whisper. I smiled, a love struck expression invading all of my features. Those three simple words, I have heard her utter dozens of times, maybe even hundreds. But still, sometimes when I hear them, it makes my heart do flips. Just like now.

"I love you too, baby girl." I placed a gentle kiss against the top of her head, letting my lips linger there a second. She placed her hands on my arms, where I kept her in my hold. She always tells me that she feels safe and secure in my arms. I hope that she'll feel that way forever. I hope I can always give her that sense of love and comfort.

Y/n's body shifted on top of mine. She flipped her body over, and it left me in slight shock how she did it so gracefully. Knowing my clumsy self, I'm sure I would have tipped the hammock and be lying down on the ground right now with the grass tickling my bare torso.

Y/n, who was now facing me, scanned over my face. I watched her eyes flicker across my face, examining every detail. Being under her stare for so long made me squirm slightly.

"What is it?" I questioned. She shook her head, a smile tugging at the edge of her mouth. "Really, What are you staring at? Is there something on my face?" I asked with a chuckle in my tone.

She shook her head once again. "Nope."

"Then what is it?" I asked, rubbing her back slowly.

"You're just... perfect." Y/n's voice was soft. "I could honestly stare at you for hours. So handsome..." Her voice trailed off.

I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks. It's a good thing it was dark outside. "Oh, um, t-thank you, baby," I chuckled, "You're really beautiful, you know that?"
