^Pretty blue eyes can I get your name...

You sat down on the hardwood floor in front of the fireplace. You shivered, still being cold, despite the warmth of the house.

You and your best friend, Jacob, had just gotten back from skiing. It was your first time ever doing it, so of course you fell down a lot in the snow. You weren't used to the cold, so naturally, it was kind of hard to handle. You had taken off all of your ski clothes, now in a pair of plain black leggings and a long sleeved shirt.

As you stared at the fire, you heard someone walking up to you from behind. The person sat down on the floor beside you. They set down a mug in front of you. You looked down, seeing a full glass of hot cocoa for you.

You smiled, looking over at the person, revealing to be Jacob. He smiled back, taking a sip from his mug, which you assumed to also be hot cocoa. He had a fluffy white blanket over his back. He scooted closer to you, wrapping half of it around your back.

Jacob placed his hand on the small of your back as he secured his mug with the other. You picked up your mug, taking a sip of the warm beverage.

"Is it good?" Jacob suddenly broke the long silence. You nodded, grinning up at him. He giggled. "You have a mustache." He brought his thumb to your mouth and wiped it away from above your mouth.

You giggled, watching him wipe his thumb on the fabric of his black basketball shorts. He grinned at you. "You're cute." He said. Your eyes widened. "W-what?"

Jacob chuckled, moving his hand from the small of your back and stretching it around your shoulder. "I said you're cute." He repeated. You felt the heat rising to your cheeks. "Oh, um, I-I, thanks." You blushed, looking up at him.

The truth is, you've always had a slight crush on Jacob. It wasn't big but it was definitely present. Hearing him say you were cute made you so excited, even if it was just a small compliment.

You both stared down at the fire with the blanket draped around you. The fire was the only light source in the room, making it really dim, and some might even say... romantic.

Your gaze wandered over to the window. It was dark outside. But you could still see little snowflakes falling down. You looked back over at the fire. You watched it move around, being oddly entertained by it.

Jacob's thumb began gently rubbing your shoulder. The small sensation was enough to give you butterflies. You leaned your head up against his shoulder, putting your arm around his waist. You could feel yourself becoming sleepy.

Just being in Jacob's embrace have you some sense of comfort. You always felt safe in his arms. He was big, warm, and cuddly. Although, you would never admit it to his face. You were convinced that he didn't like you that way.

Your eyes felt heavy, so you closed them. "Y/n?" Jacob's soft voice whispered in your ear. "Hm?" You replied lazily, not opening your eyes.

"Getting sleepy?" Jacob chuckled quietly. You nodded, a yawn coming out of your mouth afterwards.

"Here," Jacob said, uncrossing his legs. "Lay on my lap." You opened up your eyes, taking your head off of his shoulder. You spread your body out on the floor, laying your head on Jacob's thigh. You rested your hand on his knee.

You closed your eyes, the warmth from the fire soothing you and sending you closer to sleep. The white blanket that was previously draped over your shoulders was thrown over your body. You smiled, feeling warm and secure.

Jacob sat there with you on his lap, continuing to drink his hot chocolate and watch the fire. You were almost asleep when you felt a sensation on your temple. Jacob leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on you.

"I love you, y/n." He whispered, playing with your hair. "I wish you knew that." Hearing him speak those words made your heart skip a beat. You were no doubt love-struck.

You knew that he probably thought you were asleep. You smiled against his thigh. "I do now, J." You said quietly. You heard his breath hitch in his throat.

"Y/n, I-i thought you were asleep..." Jacob nervous laughed. You giggled, opening your eyes and sitting up. "No. No I'm not."

You looked at him, seeing his cheeks bright red. "I'm sorry, I ju-just..." You cut off his stuttering, placing your index finger against his lips. "Don't be sorry." You assured him.

You removed your finger, placing you hand on the back of his neck. You leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on his soft lips. You only held it for a couple seconds before pulling away.

He stared at you with a look of bliss on his face. You smiled, feeling the same emotions as him. "And by the way, I love you too, Jacob." You grin.
