I never thought our summer break is coming to an end earlier than expected.

College is fine. A little different from high school, it's a lot more stressful, but still, it's school.

I took Accounting and Finance and it's already my second year.

Tomorrow, the fall semester will start. I do love studying but I'm still not mentally prepared about it. I feel like I'm getting lazier as days pass by. I suddenly regretted on registering in the first place.

The only thing that I'm excited about tomorrow is I'll get to see Ryan often and chat with my best friend Ria, Ryan's sister. They're like me, they love to study but more than I do.

Out of boredom, I grab my diary under my pillow and scribble some notes on it.

Dear Diary,

I know I should only write important details here but I'm really bored. Tomorrow classes will start again and I'm not yet ready. Also, I've been mean to Ryan during summer like I always am. I just can't stand being away with him, but he's usually too far from me. He rarely visits me since he has summer jobs and he and his family went to Ohio. When

I got cut off while writing when someone knocked on my door. I immediately hide my diary under my pillow and rush to unlock my door.

My mom appeared as I opened the door, she's wearing a dirty apron, she's probably doing something down the kitchen. "Help me bake a cake will you?" She said in a nice tone.

"Oh yeah, sure." I agreed.

I told her that I'll go down and follow her in a minute. I went back inside my room and held my hair into a ponytail. I wear my eyeglasses that were sitting on the side table and fixed my bed before leaving.

I also locked my room and grab the keys, just in case one of my two annoying siblings tries to make a tour inside.

Just when I thought that my siblings are inside their own rooms, I saw them with mom inside the kitchen and it's already a huge mess. "What's happening here?" I asked.

"Baking obviously." My sister remarked as she rolled her eyes on me while she is mixing something inside a bowl.

"I mean what's with the cake?" I know mom asked me to help her, but it looked like they won't need my help anymore.

"The new neighbor just moved in." She informed.

"So?"

"I guess it'll be nice to give her a cake as a welcome gift." There she goes. I agreed to help her make a cake because I thought we'll be the ones eating it.

"It's a he mom." I can see hearts forming inside Serene's eyes. I don't mind her having crushes and all, she's just a year younger than me, I totally understand her falling for boys.

The problem is she falls in love too fast.

Not even knowing the guy's background, hence what he looks like. She always assumes that he's a prince with a charming face and personality.

"This is ridiculous," I said and rest my arms on the counter. Watching the three of them get miserable on baking a cake for the new neighbor. "Where's dad?"
