Tea Leaves (Levi x reader)

chapter 7- Simple Training

Y/N was woken up by the sound of voices making their way down the corridor. As she was getting up someone knocked on her door and began to speak.

"Y/N, it's me, Levi. I just wanted to let you know that it's nearly breakfast and everyone needs to be in the mess hall by a certain time, the commander has given you ask exception for the week but I thought I might help you get in the habit, now get up brat," Levi explained before waking towards the mess hall.
Y/N sighed and stood up, walking to her dresser to grab her uniform.

When Y/N arrived at the mess hall she was beckoned over to the table where Levi was sitting as well as four other people.  Y/N walked over to the table and was instantly bombarded with questions from the group.

"Is it true that you were able to make Levi smile?" The only girl at the table asked.

"Why did you decide to agree with Levi and join us?"

How does it feel to be the sister of a titan?" Two men asked at the same time.

The third man, who looked like he was a Levi wannabe, was about to speak before Levi told them all to shut up, which caused the man to bite his tongue. The group sighed and watched as the man tried to stop the bleeding.

"Sorry about that Y/N," Levi spoke up, "they can sometimes get a bit carried away."

"Hey, that's not how you should talk about your teammates Levi," the girl said. "We do apologise though, we shouldn't have made you uncomfortable with all those questions."

"It's okay," Y/N said as she sat down.

"Well as an apology gift, why don't we introduce ourselves," the man with long blonde hair suggested, "my name is Eld Jin, this here is Gunther Schultz," Eld pointed to the man sitting next to him, "This lovely lady is Petra Ral," he pointed to the girl before turning to the last member, "and thats Oluo Bozado," he finished.

"Hey, I deserve more recognition then that," Oluo struggled to say with the rag that was covering his tongue.

Y/N looked over at Levi who was sipping on his tea. "Hey Y/N," Levi started, "does your brother normally sleep in this late?"

Y/N only just noticed that her brother wasn't with them, she thought that they had to keep a close eye on him at all times.

"No sir," Y/N said, "but I could understand why he isn't up yet. At the tribunal someone said that he couldn't stand up on his own after his first transformation and after fixing Trost he was in a comatose state, which means that his powers could have an effect on his body, not to mention you did beat him up pretty badly yesterday and his body needed to heal."

Levi was impressed with her answer and so was the rest of his squad, for someone who had little knowledge on titans and who hadn't seen her brother after transforming, she was perfectly fit for the special operations squad except from the fact that they hadn't tested her pgysical and ODM skills.

Half an hour had passed and Eren finally showed up to the mess hall, Levi looked unimpressed at his tardiness but still allowed him to eat his breakfast. Eren sat down next to his sister, who was currently sketching in her sketchbook and looked at the page she was on.

It was a drawing of his titan form.

How did she know what he looked like, unless she was given details and tried to draw what she heard. Unless something happened during Trost that meant she experienced him in her path.

Eren decided not to say anything and continued eating. After a couple of minutes Levi started to discuss what their plans for the day were.

"Today is going to be a bit different, Everyone except for Y/N and I will be heading to the old Survey Corps headquarters. When you arrive I want you to get to cleaning, make sure the place is pretty much spotless when I get there." Levi gave the group a plan of the building that had designated cleaning locations for each member. "Y/N, you and I will be doing some basic training before going to meet them there, meet me in the courtyard in fifteen minutes, Everyone is dismissed."

Y/N arrived at the courtyard within the time that Levi had see her. Her was standing next to a table that supported an ODM rig. Next to the table was a metal beam on supports with two wires sticking out from the top (you know the thing that they do to test balance, I don't know what they're called) Y/N was told to hook the wires to her belt and see if she could balance, it was the first thing all cadets learnt so she should be able to do it pretty easily.

Y/N was pulled into the air almost instantly, the shock nearly making her fall over. She calmed herself down and let her body sit naturally, forgetting that she was in the air. Levi smiled at her achievement and was excited to see if she could do well in everything else.

Two hours passed and Y/N has finished horseback training and was now learning how to use the ODM gear. Levi was demonstrating how to put it on and  use it when Erwin walked over to talk to him.

"Hanji changed her mind and decided to head over to the old headquarters later today, I need you to finish what you're doing here and head over in about an hour." Erwin turned to face Y/N and continued, "your belongings are being brought over in a wagon with other supplies alongside Hanji, I wouldn't want you to worry about getting everything ready, cadet Jaeger."

Erwin left Y/N and Levi to finish everything they were doing, Y/N felt more confident after properly being called a cadet and challenged Levi to an ODM race in the forest, which Levi agreed too after a lot of pestering from her.

Y/N and Levi set up on a makeshift starting line, cadets around the yard came to watch was was happening, a race between new blood and a highly skilled solider was going to be interesting. After someone yelled "GO!" The two challengers ran to the entrance of the forest before using their gear, shooting the hooks into the trees. Y/N shocked Levi with her skills, it was like she knew how to use everything, even the stuff he hadn't shown her.

The race went on for about five minutes before Y/N and Levi crossed the finish line at the same time. The cadets around the yard were surprised,  they had never seen anyone who could tie with Levi (hehe, that rhymed) but for that someone too be a beginner, they started to think that there was now someone who could be on Levi's level as humanity's strongest, if not than higher.

Y/N and Levi were riding to the HQ when Levi spoke up.

"Hey Y/N, can I ask you a question?"

"You just did but sure, what do you want?" Y/N questioned.

"How were you able to tie with me when that was the first time you ever used your gear?"

Y/N was also confused about the events that unfolded earlier, "it must have been luck or the fact that I have a great teacher," she said while nudging Levi with her elbow.

The two rode to the headquarters in a comfortable silence.
