Tea Leaves (Levi x reader)

Chapter 9- Trust

I've needed to switch a few scenes around to make the story work. I have also added a few bits and pieces as well.

A couple of days had passed and Y/N woke up to the sound of Hanji yelling. She half expected to see the crazy scientist standing over her but realised that she was actually outside, screaming for the E/C eyed girl to meet her in the courtyard. Y/N held her palm out signalling that she was going to be down in a few minutes to which Hanji nodded and gave her a thumbs up before heading to the courtyard.

Y/N walked down the stairs while putting on her jacket. Hanji waved to Y/N when she arrived in the courtyard and smiled at the fact that she had brought her sketchbook, Hanji knew that she would be needing that.

"So Hanji, what do you need from me? Y/N asked as Hanji smiled.

"We are going to do some simple tests on Eren to see if he is able to fully control his titan form," Hanji explained. "We are going to an old well near here today and if that plan fails, I have an idea for another experiment."

Y/N was actually excited about the experiments. If they were planned right then she would be able to see her brother in titan form for the first time. It also meant that she could spend more time with Levi's squad and try to strengthen their bonds. Hanji noticed the excited glimpse in her eyes and offered to tell her a bit about the titans on their ride to the well.

When Hanji and Y/N arrived at the well, they started setting up everything for the arrival of the special operations squad, they even set up a table for after the experiment for the squad to enjoy their tea.

Y/N started sketching in her sketchbook to pass the time when Hanji's assistant walked over to introduce himself.

"I'm Moblit Berner, Section Commander Hanji's assistant, nice to meet you," he said as he outstretched his hand, waiting for Y/N to shake it. Y/N noticed the gesture and happily shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you Moblit," Y/N said. She was about to ask him something but was cut of by the sound of hooves hitting the earth, Squad Levi was arriving.

"Well I better go talk to Hanji before the start of this experiment," Moblit said before running off to wherever Hanji was, Y/N decided to go talk to the group before the start of the experiment.

The experiment failed and Levi's squad was sitting down drinking tea ,waiting for everything to be packed up. Eren had tried to transform but something wasn't working, in the end he was brought up out of the well and his hands were bandaged up. Y/N was sitting next to Eren to make sure he was okay and to help him if his hands started to hurt or blood started to leak through the bandages.

Eren was talking to the squad when he grabbed his spoon to stir his tea but his hand tended up and stated to sting, making the soon fall on the floor. He went to pick it up when sparks started to appear around him, Y/N recognised the lights from when the Colossal Titan shows up and decided to quickly move from her seat just as Eren transformed. The smoke cleared from the area and it revealed that only an arm transformed, which made Y/N a little upset, she just wanted to see what her brother looked like as a titan.

Y/N turned to look at the rest of the group. Everyone had their swords ready to fight but Levi was the only one facing away from Eren, meaning he was protecting him. Y/N sighed before realising that the rest of Levi's squad was ready to kill them at the slightest movement. Eren was struggling to pull his hand from the arm that had formed and the look on his face showed that he was scared of what the others were going to do.

"Calm down," Levi simply stated. Eren thought he was talking to him and started to apologise before realising the captain was talking to everyone else. "I said calm down, all of you," Levi continued as his team looked at Eren and Y/N with fear and betrayal.

Y/N couldn't believe them, were the bonds and promises they made just an act, were they really afraid of them? The thoughts she had and the yelling from the group gave her a headache and she had to sit back down on the grass.

"Eren! What is the meaning of this?!" Eld screamed to the boy, fear rushing through both of their eyes.

Eren responded with a "sir" just before Eld continued yelling.

"Why did you do it without permission?! Answer me!"

Levi looked over to the yelling man and told him to wait before being cut off by Oluo also yelling at Eren. Gunther quickly disagreed with him and started walking towards the siblings with his blades drawn and held at a menacing angle.

"First, you two need to prove that you aren't hostile towards us-no, towards humanity!" Gunther yelled at both Eren and Y/N, "we have reason to believe that they are both scheming something." Y/N felt so little trust come out of those words and looked to Levi for help but he wasn't looking in their direction, leaving the girl sat on the grass with tears threatening to spill form her eyes. Eren was confused by the statement, but was cut off by Gunther.

The group kept yelling at Eren, threatening to kill him and trying to find out what he was planning. Levi was trying to reason with them but they just wouldn't listen. The yelling kept adding to Y/N's growing headache when she finally snapped. "Would you all just shut up!" she yelled and everyone froze at the sudden outburst from the girl until they heard running coming from the entrance of the nearby forest.

"Eren!" It was Hanji running to the scene, obviously excited about the arm. "Can I touch that arm?! Please? Pretty please? I just wanna touch it!" And before Eren could warn Hanji, the excited section commander placed her hands on the skinless arm for a couple of seconds before flailing about, yelling at how hot it was. Everyone just stared at her while Moblit scolded her.

Hanji stood up and turned to face Eren before asking him a couple of questions and then getting really excited for the answers, which she did not receive. instead, Eren pulled his hand from the titan, falling to the ground. Y/N immediately ran over to her brother to see if he was okay. Hanji started freaking out because of the decaying carcass, screaming about how she wanted to study it more. Levi ignored her whining and walked over to the siblings to see if they were both okay, to which Eren said he wasn't feeling very good.

Night rolled around and they were all back at the old HQ, Y/N asked to be excused from everything that was planned that night, saying that she still had a headache and needed to rest. When Y/N emtered her room she immediately started to cry, she felt so betrayed by the group and all she wanted to do was run back to Trost, back to her tea shop and back to the people there that she called her family. Y/N sat down on her bed and pulled out her sketchbook, she kept on drawing until she heard a knock on her door.

When Y/n opened the door se was met with the apologetic faces of Levi's Squad. Petra explained why they were so hostile towards her and her brother and even showed Y/n the groups token of apology. Y/N hesitantly accepted the groups apology and walked back downstairs with them to where Levi, Eren and Hanji were sat. Y/N sat down and the rest of the group followed. Hanji excitedly told everyone their plans for the next day and Y/N listened carefully.

After a while Y/N started to tap what she though was her knee but didn't feel her fingers tapping. Levi turned to face Y/N and gave her a small smile to let her know that she was tapping his knee. Y/N's face immediately turned red and Levi lightly chuckled at her flustered face before holding her hand under the table. Y/N relaxed at the gesture and smiled at Levi. Everyone noticed the display and decided to leave the two alone. Levi noticed that Y/N was starting to fall asleep so he let her lie down on his lap. The two sat in silence until Y/N was nearly asleep when Levi whispered to her quietly enough not to be heard,

"I love you Y/N."

AAAAHH I'M SO SORRY THIS TOOK FOREVER AND THAT IT'S TERRIBLE!!! I hope you are all ready for what's gonna happen between you and Levi in this story. I actually have a really clear goal in mind and I'm kinda using some parts of A.O.T 2 (the game is amazing) to help direct me or give me ideas with prompts. I hope you enjoyed reading this!!!
