Tea Leaves (Levi x reader)

Chapter 8- Cleaning Time!

Y/N and Levi arrived at the old castle and dismounted form their horses, putting them in the stables. When they walked into the old hq they saw everyone cleaning which Levi half smiled at. He walked over to a bench that had cleaning supplies on it and grabbed a mop, two cloths and a bucket of water.

Levi looked at Y/N and told her she wasn't designated a cleaning spot but she could join someone to make their job a bit easier. He handed her the plan and Y/N noticed that her brother was given the largest space.

"I would like to help my brother, if that's okay, " Y/N said and at that moment she swore she could see a hint of jealousy in his eyes.

"Yeah, whatever, " Levi replied, taking of his jacket and tying the cloths around his mouth and along his forehead, "just let me see what he's done first, you can get ready if you want." Levi walked up the stairs to where Eren was cleaning, leaving Y/N to get ready.

When Levi came back down he said that Y/N could go upstairs to start cleaning, and then he left to clean his own section. Y/N walked up the old cobblestone stairs and noticed Eren thoroughly scrubbing the floors, Levi must not have liked the state that it was in. When Eren looked up he noticed his sister leaning against the door frame, watching as he struggled to get up, nearly slipping on the recently mopped floor.

"Are you gonna help me or not?" Eren asked.

"I dunno, unless you have any stories you want to share while we clean," Y/N suggested. "Stories from your time in the training corps."

Eren smiled and nodded at Y/N's suggestion. He knew that it would make the time fly and he might have been able to sneak a few stories from her.

"And that's how I ended up throwing Jean to the floor," Eren finished as Y/N laughed. An hour had passed and they had both exchanged a few stories from the years of each other's lives they missed, Y/N found out that Eren had nearly failed on his first week of training while Eren found out that Y/N had accedentally spilt hot tea over one of her customers. They both realised that there was so much more to talk about but they didn't have all day, Hanji could arrive in any minute.

"Hey Y/N, could you tell me the reason why you and Captain Levi are so close?" Eren asked.

"Well, I guess it was the first time I opened my shop. Levi was one of my first customers and I needed to know more about him, at first I didn't even realise who he was. After a while Levi stated to tell me about his expeditions and basic information on titans and the survey corps. We've known each other for a while so that's why we are so close," Y/N explained, leaving out any details that may cause her brother to tease her about.

Eren was about to say something when someone knocked on the closed door.

"Eren, Y/N. Levi wants us all to meet in the meeting room in 5 minutes," a calming female voice called out, most likely belonging to Petra.

Y/N and Eren brought the cleaning supplies downstairs and walked to the room they were called to. Y/N decided to grab her sketchbook just in case things got awkward or she didn't feel like talking. After the battle of Trost, Y/N's notebook had been filed with one thing, sketches of the titan she encountered. And even though she knew about Eren's ability, she still couldn't put two and two together and realise that it was Eren who saved her.

When they arrived at the mess hall they were greeted with cups of tea. Y/N was happy that Levi's squad enjoyed tea, it meant she could talk about her interests and hobbies. Levi noticed Y/N's excited smile and told her to drink some, Y/N sipped on the tea, only to realise that it was her own blend, perfectly made.

"Levi, did you prepare the tea?" Y/N asked, "It's almost identidentical to the way I make it."

"Maybe I did, maybe I didnt," Levi said and sipped on the hit beverage.

Y/N managed to talk to everyone at the table, she instantly bonded with Petra and they promised each other, being the only girls in the group, that they would look out for each other no matter what. Y/N also briefly talked to Eld and Gunther and earned their respect. A couple of minutes passed and a large bang was heard from the other side of the door followed by someone quietly mumbling. Petra stood up and opened the door to reveal Hanji.

Hanji talked to everyone in the squad before turning to talk to Eren. Y/N noticed out of the corner of her eye that Levi was packing up his things, Y/N was confused until everyone started to stand up, motioning for y/N to follow them before it was too late. Y/N stood up and followed the group, leaving Eren with Hanji.

"That was a close one," Gunther said after they made it a safe distance away from the door, "any longer and we would have been stuck listening to Hanji's titan information."

"That enough," Levi said, "I need to talk to Y/N in private, you are all dismissed to do whatever you feel like doing."

Everyone left Y/N and Levi to talk. Y/N seemed confused but then realised that Levi was probably going to tell her a bit about the life of a scout.

"Y/N, your sleeping quarters are down in the dungeon, I know it sounds harsh but it's just because we don't know if you are like Eren and we don't want you to accedentally transform if you are and we didn't want to leave Eren alone down there but we need someone he trusts to keep an eye on him. In your room we have put all your belongings on a desk and we have given you a schedule of everything you will be doing until the day of the expedition. You are now dismissed," Levi said before heading in the opposite direction of Y/N.

Y/N felt kind of upset at the lack of trust that was put in both herself and her brother, they didn't even know if Y/N was like him and they were already expecting the worst. Y/N walked to her room and fell asleep, wishing that tomorrow was going to end better.

If you guys haven't noticed, I've been editing previous chapters. I think I've fixed all mistakes but if you notice anything, don't be afraid to let me know. Just please try not to be too harsh.
