"Who might this be"

"Emma" Nick said. He looked so bad but still good if you know what I mean.

"Mamma who is this" Evelyn said.

"One of mommy's friends" Was all I could say. I didn't know what to say.

"Can we please talk Emma. I'm tired of you avoiding me" Nick asked.

"You have 3 minutes" I said bluntly. They called my name at the register and I got Evelyn's food. She sat next to me and ate her food as we talked.

"Emma I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me" Nick said while holding my hand. I slowly pulled it away.

"Nick you hurt me not even twenty-four hours after you told me you loved me. A day after our one month anniversary" I said holding in my tears. I didn't want to cry in front of Evelyn. A tear slipped from my eye and Nick wiped it off.

"I know and I'm sorry. I just assumed that you didn't love me because you just left." He said hanging his head low.

"You can't asume things. I just needed time to think." I had to refrain from cursing because my daughter was present.

"I know and I'm sorry neonata" He said kissing my hand.

"Ew" Evelyn said before putting french fry in her mouth. Nick laughed and then looked at me.

"Who might this be" He asked. Surprisingly he wasn't put off by her.

"This is my daughter Evelyn, Evelyn say hi" I said.

"Hi" She said and smiled. Most adorable thing ever.

"Hi, I didn't know you had a kid" He whispered kind of.

"I was going to end up telling you, I just didn't know when. I asked Zion for help but I just, I dont know" I really had no idea what to say.

"It's ok" He said.

"I don't want you looking at me different" I said. I really missed Nick, I just want him back in my life.

"I would never" He said. I've heard that one before. "How old is she"

"Well Evelyn can answer for herself, how old are you sweetheart"

"I am 3" She said holding up three fingers. I laughed at how amazing she is. Then Zion walked up to the table.

"Hey sis" He said hugging me.

"Hey it's been a while" I said hugging him back.

"You must be Evelyn" He said holding his hand out to her. She shook his hand because that's just how friendly she is.

"Who are you" She said taking a sip of her juice. I don't allow her soda because it messes up her skin.

"Well this is your... uncle- CALEB" I said snatching the cup from his hand. Evelyn had asked for his soda.

"What and why would you call me by my first name" He saud frowning.

"Uncle Caleb" She giggled.

"She isn't allowed to have soda and ir just came out. Have fun with that" I laughed.

"Uncle Caleb, Uncle Caleb" Evelyn continously repeated. Zion sighed and Nick chuckled.

"Emma do you think I could have a second chance" Nick said. He had this pleading look in his eyes.

"Maybe I should asked Evelyn. Do you think I should give him a second chance tesoro" I asked her.

"Umm... Yes mamma" She said. She doesn't even know what a second chance is but she is my lifeline.
