~Emma Pov~ ~A month later~ The night the girls came over I felt a little better. It has been a month since I broke up with Nick. I got over it in about two weeks. I have to focus on my career and my daughter. Not everything is about me. I stopped wearing the necklace that Nick brought me. It's in my jewelry box.
Valentine's day is next week and it hurts a little but I'll be over it. I may just dropped a song and call it a day. I have to look for preschools for Evelyn becuase after she turns four she will be in school.
"Emma are you ready to go" Dominic asked. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I am going to see my aunt. She probably hates me.
"Yes let me just get Evelyn's carry on" I said walking up to her room. She was sitting on her chair trying to fix her shoe.
"Do you need help sweetheart" I asked. She nodded her head and I bent down to help her.
"Daddy usually helps me" She said. I stopped doing what I was doing. Who was she talking about.
"Who Are you talking about" I asked.
"Daddy Nick" She said cheerfully. She called him Daddy. She is too innocent for the world. "I miss him"
"I do too" I said. It's the truth. Of course I'm gonna miss him. I do love him. I finished her shoes and grabbed her bag.
"Lets go tesoro" I said while picking her up. I walked downstairs and put her in the car. ____
So now we are in Canada. I haven't been here in ages. It has honestly been so long. I am driving to my aunts house now. I just wonder what's she gonna say.
"Hey, it's ok" Dante said running my shoulder. We walked up the steps to the house. I knocked on the door.
"Mommy where are we" Evelyn said tugging on my cardigan.
"We are at your aunt Jane's house" I said. Here we go.
"Ye- Oh my god Emma, Dante" My aunt said as she opened the door. She sounded like my mom too. She pulled us into a hug.
"Godness who is this little one" She said looking down at Evelyn.
"I'm Evelyn" She said cheerfully.
"Hi Evelyn" Aunt Janet said. "Come in"
She lead us into the house a d Dominic and Nicolette were in the kitchen.
"Took you long enough we had the same flight" Dominic laughed.
"Hey I haven't been here for sometime, it took me a minute to find my way" I laughed.
"Lets go your just in time for dinner" My aunt said. We all set up at the table and began eating. We laughed and joked and talked.
"So anything going on in your life" Aunt Janet said to me.
"Oh I'm going on tour and my baby's birthaday is coming up" I said looking at Evelyn.
"So is yours" My aunt said.
"In going to be doing a show so it doesn't matter" I shrugged it off.
"I missed you" She said to me.
"You don't hate me" I laughed even though I wasn't joking.
"I could never, not after what you've been through" She said patting my hand on the table. "So relationships go" She looked at everyone.
"Umm me and Marissa are doing fine" Dante started.
"We were going to wait until the party but we are engaged" Nicolette said holding up her hand.
"Oh Lord my baby is all grown up, what about you Emma" My aunt said.
"Oh umm... recently separated" I said. I didn't know what to say. At least Evelyn doesn't know what that means.
"I'm so sorry" My aunt said.
"Oh no it's fine, I'm doing great. The last time I'll have to see him is...nevermind" I started by only Marissa and Dominic know about my plan.
"Ok new topic" Dominic said saving my butt. We talked for some more and then we were all tired.
"Bye Auntie me and Evelyn have a hotel booked" I said grabbing our bags.
"Nonsense you are staying here" She said.
"Do you have enough room" I asked.
"Having three kids of course" She smiled.
"Where is Aaliyah" I asked.
"She's away on a trip in Cancun"
"Oh I need to see her" I laughed.
"Come on let's get you settled in the room" My aunt said I followed her up the stairs. We got settled in one of the guest rooms and Evelyn went right to sleep. ____
It is like 3 am and I still can't sleep. It reminds me when I saw younger and I couldn't sleep because of a big test or a cheer competition. Mama would always be in the kitchen. She had a cup of chocolate milk always ready for me. I walked downstairs, chocolate milk sounds good right now.
"I had a feeling you would be here" I heard. I jumped a little only to hear my aunt laugh.
"You scared the shit out of me" I said putting my hand to my chest.
"Hey watch your mouth young lady, but I remember your mom telling me you couldn't sleep"
"What"
"She would always tell me that whenever there was something in your mind, boys, test, music, cheer, you would never sleep and just be in the kitchen" My aunt said.
"Really, mama talked about me"
"Always, you remind me of her. She couldn't sleep either. She was always thinking about her future, she would tell mama everything" My aunt chuckled.
"I miss her" I said.
"I do too, that's my twin for God's sake. What's on your mind tonight" My aunt said handing me a glass of chocolate milk.
"It's just that Evelyn always talks about Nick. It has been such a hard month without him. I really do miss him"
"Awe sweetheart if it's meant to be, it'll be. He will come back to you. You will be ready" My aunt said touching my hand. "Oh my is that your mothers necklace" My aunt asked.
"Yea how did you know" I asked.
"Because I have the other half, it doesn't make sense without the other piece" She said taking the necklace from under her nightgown. She put them both together.
"I haven't worn it since I got it from her. It's always sat in my jewelry box"
"My heart has been broken since she's been gone" My aunt chuckled.
"This is what I needed" I sighed.
"What"
