Shay's POV
My alarm goes off and I get out of bed. I go into the bathroom to take a shower and then turn my phone on when I get back to my room. I put my clothes on and make my way to the kitchen to have breakfast. When I'm done, I go back upstairs to brush my air and teeth. I grab my bag and leave the house.
On my way to campus I turn on WiFi. I always check my feed before classes.
*Good morning!* I get a text from Ian.
*You remembered.* I never thought he would.
*Looks like you owe me.* Why did I accept the bet really?
*So what do you want?*
*I'll tell you over coffee.*
*Fine.*
*Meet me at the diner at 9:30pm.*
*I thought it was after lunch.*
*Change of plans.*
*What if I have something to do after dinner?*
*Do you?*
*No...*
*Then stop making excuses.*
*You're so infuriating!*
*I know, babe. See you later.* He's really pushing it.
*Don't call me that.* I warn but he doesn't answer back. Bastard!
Ian's POV
So what am I supposed to wear on a date?
This isn't a date, you idiot!
My subconscious reminds me. Fine, it's not a date. But I still want to look nice for her.
Everything you own is nice.
He's right once again, so I put a white button down shirt and jeans on. I hope she doesn't bail on me.
When I'm all set, I grab my wallet and keys and leave the house. I don't know why I'm so nervous. It's just coffee and, besides, we already kissed once so...
It's because you like her, you idiot!
No, it's not. It can't be. Right? I don't have time to dwell on that because I just arrived at the diner and she's standing by the door. I think about turning around and leaving but then I see her smile. I can't leave, I can't do that to her, not again. I really like this girl and I cannot mess this up again. She has given me too many chances already and somehow I know this is the last one so I have to do things right.
I go to her and we enter the diner. Shay lets me order for her and she's actually surprised when she likes the chocolate milkshake.
"Why are you so surprised?"
"Because I've never had a milkshake before. I always thought they looked gross."
"Then why did you let me order it?" This girl doesn't make sense.
"Because I wanted you to surprise me, and you did. This is so good, thanks." And this is why I like her.
"Let's get out of here." I tell her.
She doesn't complain like I thought she would. Instead she gets up and follows me out the door. We start walking towards the park but none of us is talking.
"So can you tell me what you want now?" Until she breaks the silence that is, and I'm glad she does.
"What I want?" What is she talking about?
