It's You again God,
With Easter just being a week ago, it was interesting to be drawn into reading about Jesus, as the prophet Isaiah recorded Your words so long before You sent Your Son to live and die for me. These words were just so encouraging and a great reminder of all I have in Jesus:
"So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic."
Isaiah 28:16 NIV
This is surely a promise directly from Your mouth Father and I receive it today! I am so blessed that You have a solid foundation for my life —a living stone for a foundation. I can read more about this in the New Testament:
"As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.""
1 Peter 2:4-6 NIV
Jesus You are the foundation for my life as a Christian. Only by having a secure, stable foundation can anything lasting be built. Anything added to the house and not built on the foundation will surely end in disaster!
I love how Your words show that You Father are the One who does the work —'See I lay a stone in Zion'.There was no way I could provide the right kind of foundation for my life but You could! Right now I behold Your foundation, appreciate it, wonder at it, value it — I build my life on Jesus!
Thank You Jesus that You came and were tried, tested and proven to be the glorious, obedient Son of God! You are the precious Cornerstone which provides the lines and the pattern for all the rest of the construction. The cornerstone is straight and true, and everything in the entire building lines up in reference to the cornerstone.
Jesus You are my sure foundation and I can build everything on You without fear. Please help me to remember Your words today! I will rely on You and never be stricken with panic!
