It's You again God,
I woke with the reminder that You Jesus, are my friend. Sometimes with earthly friendships, people drift apart over time as motives and expectations can be different with each individual. What once was a relationship marked with a level of intimacy can quickly become very distant! Forgiveness is not a priority, rather selfish motives and pride eventually lead to the breakdown of love. While the earthly connections I have may not always last and I am left wondering what happened, I am so thankful that my friendship with You never ends and I know that it's all got to do with love:
""So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends. "You show that you are my intimate friends when you obey all that I command you. I have never called you 'servants,' because a master doesn't confide in his servants, and servants don't always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate friends, for I reveal to you everything that I've heard from my Father. You didn't choose me, but I've chosen and commissioned you to go into the world to bear fruit. And your fruit will last, because whatever you ask of my Father, for my sake, he will give it to you! So this is my parting command: Love one another deeply!""
John 15:12-17 TPTThank You Jesus for revealing so much to me through Your Word. You have blessed me by being my most intimate friend throughout so many years! I can tell You anything and You always forgive! I pray that Your love and faithfulness will mark all my earthly relationships for the rest of my years. I choose to fulfill Your command to love sacrificially, just as You have loved me and given up so much for me. Thank You for giving Your life for me and for choosing me to lovingly go and bear fruit in Your Name. That is my priority today!
Until I see You face to face,
Amen.
