It's You again God,
This morning, You were speaking to me through the words of someone in my life who is truly thankful for all You have done in providing for their needs and it made me wonder, do I take You for granted? Do I just expect Your provision and receive it without having a thankful heart? There are so many blessings that I know I have overlooked and today I am determined to make space to just cultivate a more grateful attitude!
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIVI just sense that I am inconsistent in the way I live. I can be totally excited and expressing my thankfulness one day and completely forget the next! Sunday I am singing and Monday I can be complaining! However, throughout this time You are my constant provider, my constant protector, my constant guide, my constant healer, my constant companion....You are everything to me! Your kindness to me far exceeds anything I have ever experienced and Your understanding of me is never ending. You give freely and lavishly!
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
Psalm 107:1 NIVYour love and grace far exceed anything I deserve and yet You keep on pouring them out over me each day! I can't explain how secure this makes me feel! I am safe. I am cared for around the clock! I am shown the most wonderful truths in Your Word every day and You come to me in this time and gently teach me!
"Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 5:20 NIVAs I breathe today, I will be thankful! As I eat today, I will take time to appreciate every morsel! As I work, I will be thankful that my body is able to move and think to achieve an outcome; as I rest, I will rest in You and reflect on how marvellous You truly are! Most of all I will just continue:
"...giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
Colossians 1:12-14 NIVOh I am so very thankful for that!
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

SpiritualSometimes life can get so hectic that we fail to stop, take a breath and just be still. For years I have been committed to having a quiet time each day where I read the Bible and talk to God about what is on my heart, which has been really wonderful...
