It's You again God,
How special it is to meet up with friends or relatives we haven't seen for a long while! Recalling together our shared history, always brings great joy. I love the way You made us for relationship and most of our life seems to be about making connections with people, striving for quality time with those we love and ensuring that these relationships are maintained.
While relationships with those around me can take up much of my day, the most important and wonderful relationship I have is actually with You! There is nothing better than waking up knowing that you are there! You are never too busy to spend time with me even though there are more than 7.7 billion people here on earth —and You love every one of them! That is just incredible!
"How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you."
Psalm 139:17-18 NIV
Thank You for the things I know about You through reading Your Word. Thank You that You loved the world so much that You gave us Your Son so our relationship with You would not ever end!
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."
1 John 4:10-12 NIV
I am so thankful for Your continuous love and for the love and encouragement I have from being in fellowship with others. I love the way this passage says that as we love each other, Your love is made complete in us. This is only possible because we have Your Holy Spirit living inside of us! This is such a huge blessing and really makes our relationships so much richer!
I just want to pause and take time to be thankful for all of the special people You have given me in my life .................................................................. and especially those I serve alongside at church —may I encourage them all the days of my life because You made us for relationship!
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
