It's You again God,
How I love knowing that when I open my eyes each morning, I can be sure You are with me! As I draw back my curtains and take my first glimpse of the new day, You are already speaking love to my heart! Looking toward the east, the sky is the most vivid red and yet now as I write it is changing to more of an orange tone which is softened as it gently blends with the pale blue sky.
"Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate."
Psalm 111:1-4 NIVStreet lights are still shining, dotted amongst the black silhouettes of trees but soon they won't be needed! The sun will emerge and transform the landscape! I praise You and thank You for drawing my attention to the wonders of dawn. All creation rejoices in Your majesty, wonder and grace! You have set this world into motion and everything is perfectly timed, right down to the millisecond! Everything You have created is just so intrinsically beautiful!
"Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, you his servants; praise the name of the Lord. Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised."
Psalm 113:1-3 NIVYou have caught my attention in unusual ways this week as I have noticed the beauty of everyday things like fruit. One day, I found myself staring at the pattern on the skin of a rock melon! It really is so pretty and each is unique! I smiled as I thought of how I try to use my creativity to produce art of various kinds but You are the Master Craftsman who has done it all before! When I create something, I am just following in Your steps by being creative too!
How I adore You as I think of all You have made and that You never tire! I get so weary when I am working hard at making something!
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom."
Isaiah 40:28 NIVThank You that Your understanding just goes on and on, so no one can completely fathom it! You are the Creator and You don't make us and then put us aside as I do with many of my creations —many that I am not happy with or just don't get around to finishing. No, You give breath and life to Your people. You call each of us and give us Jesus' righteousness. You take us by the hand and keep us safe:
"This is what God the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: "I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness."
Isaiah 42:5-7 NIVThank You that You always had a plan and a purpose for us, Your special creations! Even as I read Isaiah's words, I realise You were talking about the greatest rescue plan ever —the most amazing prison breakout ever! Thank You for sending Jesus to be here for that time and enable this to be fulfilled. I rejoice in the salvation He has brought me and that I have been released from the bondage of sin and the death sentence that would have been mine. I do not have to sit in darkness —I am free!
I declare that I have great purpose today as I live for You. You have filled me with Your very own Holy Spirit. I am anointed to serve You and to be creative just like You!
"...I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever."
Psalm 52:8 NIVAmen!
