Eyes

I wish my eyes were radiant with color,

And would attract people like no other.

But, instead they're just a very dark brown,

Looking like a chocolate bar, from which I frown.

When you look into my eyes it's like looking into an abyss,

Or even unwrapping a chocolate bar, or just a small Hershey's kiss.

My eyes don't change while being in the sun,

And always get reminded that my eyes are no fun.

Many people have eyes just like mine,

But they learn to appreciate them,

While I sit and whine.

Why can't my eyes be blue, hazel or green?

Instead of being black, so many times seen.

But once the dark comes, my eyes sparkle under the moonlight.

And twinkle like the stars, while my eyes complete the night.
