Growing up

No I don't want to grow up,

I'm fine being a child,

I love running around,

And acting like I'm wild.

I don't want to pay the bills,

Or have responsibility,

I'll be scared to have kids,

I wonder how I'll be.

I don't want to drive around,

I'm scared I'll get lost,

I'll end up in china,

And jump the border across.

I guess I'm just scared,

I'm not sure of what to do,

When I get older,

I'll be just like you.

Society will judge me,

So will the people I meet,

I'm not ready for high school,

But I'm in for a treat.

I'm scared that I'll fail,

I won't survive freshman year,

Then I'll be homeschooled,

And spend the rest of my life here.

It'll be a smack in the face,

But I have to brave myself hard,

So then I'll be prepared,

And get to move onward.
