"Alright, come in. He's right in there," The young woman pointed at the building. Emilie nodded and stepped inside the huge building.
Emilie sighed and went to the front desk, where a man stood behind the counter.
I can't believe Gabriel has been staying at a hotel. So this is how he chooses to live his life?!
"Room no. 034," The man smiled and Emilie nodded. She started heading to the room, until she got there.
She softly knocked on the door, and it opened. She gasped at the man. Gabriel had changed so much, with a beard. He had bags under his eyes and looked very tired.
"Emilie?! What are you doing here?!" He pointed at her as if she had done something wrong.
"I came to talk to you!" Emilie huffed. "What have you been doing?!"
"None of your damn business!" Gabriel yelled. "Leave this place!Leave me alone! Leave my life!"
"Calm down, Gabriel," Emilie rolled her eyes. "You look horrible. What happened?"
Gabriel sighed. "After I left, I waited two weeks. I thought the curse was gone, so I..."
Emilie sighed and looked down. "As expected, you kissed someone and turned to a cat. Gabriel, the curse isn't going to leave you no matter where you are or how long you wait. Adrien has experienced it."
"What?!" Gabriel yelled. He earned a few looks from others. "Why?! Who?!"
"I didn't come here to talk about Adrien," Emilie waved him off, not anewering his questions. "I have found out who can destroy the curse once and for all."
"Who?"
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng! That's who!" Emilie exclaimed. "That girl! I don't know much about her, or how she is supposed to stop the curse."
Gabriel grumbled some words under his breath. "You came here to tell me this, just to get my hopes up and then crush it again?!"
"What, no."
"Get out!"
The door was slammed in her face. She sighed and turned around, leaving the building.
-_-
Adrien entered the bakery, meeting Marinette's dad, who was busy in the kitchen.
"Adrien, my boy!" Tom came and gave him a huge hug, which consisted of him lifting Adrien up from the floor.
"Y-yeah. Is Marinette home?"
"Oh." Tom wiggled his eyebrows. "Yes, she is upstairs in her room. Make sure we don't hear it.".
"Make sure you don't hear what?" Adrien asked as he frowned.
"Oh, you know what," Tom winked then laughed as he headed back to the kitchen.
Adrien was still confused, but decided to leave it at that as he headed up to Marinette's room. He opened the trapdoor and walked inside, then his eyes widened.
"AHHH, I'M SO SORRY! I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE CHANGING!" He quickly dashed out of the room, face red, heart beating fast.
Marinette put on her shirt, her face red as well. When she was done, she yelled out, "you can come in now."
Adrien, shaking all over, came inside the room again. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to see you in your br- yeah, I'll just stop talking."
Marinette chuckled and sat down on her bed. "What's up?"
"Er..." Why did he come here again? "Oh yeah... I wanted to see if you wanted to hang out."
"Oh, yes, of course. I was dying of boredom here," Marinette quickly stood up and rushed over to him. "Is it a date?"
"Only if you want it to be," He blurted. Marinette giggled and nodded.
Why did he even say that?
They both left the bakery, leaving Tom with his thoughts.
So they weren't going to do it? Ah, they're going on a date.
"I heard that they were opening a store for adopting animals," Marinette said. "That cat came over last night. I want to go get another cat so he won't feel so alone."
But I don't feel alone when I'm with you... Okay, we'll just go get the cat.
"You like cats so much, correct?" Adrien smiled as Marinette nodded. "Me too. Lets go."
They reached the store and walked up to a few cats that were still in for adopting. Marinette walked up to a red cat that had a huge black dot on her forehead.
"What's your name?"
"Tiki." If the man hadn't appeared behind them, Adrien would have thought that the cat spoke.
"Tiki, what a lovely name." Marinette picked up the cat. "I love her. She's so cute."
Cuter than me?
"Well, no," Marinette giggled.
"Huh?"
"She's not cuter than you," Marinette replied. "I want to adopt her though."
I said that out loud?
"Yes, you did."
Adrien, stop saying your thoughts out loud!
"I guess you can't help it," Marinette shrugged. "So, can we get this cat?"
Adopt? You make it sound like we're adopting a baby... Oh, Adrien, how could the word 'baby' even come up on your mind?!
"Y-yes," Adrien did admit. The cat looked very cute, especially with its huge cute eyes.
So the two of them did so.
