It didn't take that long before Adrien hard the bell ring, and he quickly remembered that Marinette was coming over. But one thing he realized, was that Gabri was still around, and Adrien didn't want them metting each other just yet.

"I'll get it." He raced down the stairs and dashed to the door, before Gabriel could get there. Making sure that Gabriel was a bit far away not to see who it was at the door, Adrien opened the door.

"J-Juleka?" Adrien frowned. "Oh, I thouht you were someone else."

Juleka nodded. "It's not me. Marinette askd me to get you, because she didn't want to go to your house for some reason. Um... yeah. She's still at school. Meet her there."

Adrien was stll confuesed, but nodded anyway. He walked out of the mansion without telling anyone he left, and he started heading for the school. Juleka ws right; Marinette was waiting at the front of the school.

Adrien waved at her, but his face dropped when he saw Marinette wasn't exactl in a god mood.

"Hey, why did you send Juleka to get me?" Maybe it wasn't a gooway to start a conversation, but Adrien was very curious.

Marinette sighed. "Because... I'm avoiding your mother!"

"What?"

"This is what I wanted to tell you." Marinette took a seat at the botto of the stairs. "Your mother has been bothering me lately. She keeps telling me to leave you and all that stuff, and it's getting annoying. I wanted to ask if you could talk to her."

Adrien clenched his fists. Some part of him was angry that Emilie had been doing this. Another part of him was also still slightly confuesed. If his own mother had been trying to separate them, then why try to bring them closer now?

"Alright, I understand. Thanks for telling me." He unclenched his fists. "Marinette?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to - I don't know, maybe hang out?"

"Adrien?" Marinette sighed. "Are you...hiding something from me? You haven't really been the way you were before, and..."

"I'm fine, and no." Adrien quickly took her hand. "There's just some things going on at home, and it's...bothering me."

"You know you can tell me, right?" Marinette smiled up at him.

Yeah, but at this case, I can't. Adrien looked down. I can't tell you anything about what's going on.

"No, everything is fine," Adrien tried to put on the most convincing smile as he could. At first she didn't want to believe him, but then she smiled back and nodded.

Gabriel was walking around the living room until the phone rang. He quickly dashed to it and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Yes, hello Gabriel. So for the thing you told me to check, it's going great. Adrien is doing a good job and so far Marinette doesn't suspect him."

Gabriel grinned. "Thank you. Keep spying on them, and make sure everything is going absolutely great."

"You sent a spy to watch Adrien and Marinette?" Emilie spoke as soon as Gabriel hanged up.

Gabriel turned to her. "Yes," He nodded. "I did, but that's a good thing. This way we can actually know if we're getting closer or not."

Emilie nodded. "So, who's the spy?"

"The spy?" Gabriel turned away. "The spy is Chloe."
