As soon as Adrien entered the living room was when Gabriel hanged up the phone on Chloe.
"Em, I'm home," Adrien frowned. Gabriel had definitely looked like he was hiding something that he didn't want anyone else knowing. "Where is Mom?"
"Your mother is at work now. She'll be back in the next two hours. Anything you found out?"
Adrien slowly shook his head. If he wanted to show the paper to Gabriel, he wanted Emilie to be there as well. "I'll be up in my room."
"No!" Gabriel grabbed his arm and pulled him back. "Don't go up there. Why don't you go and hang out with your girlfriend? Remember, Adrien, you have to find as much time as you can to be with her and find out how to stop the curse."
Adrien suddenly felt like he was being used. If he was to stop the curse, what good would it bring in the end? Marinette would be mad at him once she figure out he'd been hiding all these things from her.
"No, it's fine." And besides, he already found the solution... Well, at least part of the solution. "I'll be in my room." Maybe it actually wasn't a good idea to show the paper to his parents. He didn't feel safe anymore, being on their team, helping them out and having to lie to Marinette for that.
"Whatever." Gabriel rolled his eyes. As soon as Adrien went upstairs, he took the phone again and dialed Chloe's number.
"Hello Mr. Agreste. Anything I can do for you?" Chloe replied very quickly, as if she had been waiting for it.
What Gabriel didn't know was that Adrien hadn't gone up in his room. No, instead, he hid behind a corner and listened very carefully to what ur was saying on the phone. The voice sounded rather very familiar to him, and he was sure he had heard it somewhere before.
"Yes, Adrien is being very stubborn," Gabriel answered. "I need you to try and bring Adrien and Marinette closer to each other. Marinette doesn't suspect Adrien, right?"
"No, she definitely doesn't. She's very stupid, naive and clueless," The other side exclaimed with a chuckle. Adrien definitely knew that voice, and he definitely knew who would call Marinette names.
Chloe!
"You remember what I promised you, Chloe?" Gabriel smirked. "Bring Adrien and Marinette together, but once we're done with all this, I'll make sure you and Adrien will be together."
Adrien widened his eyes. His own father had made that deal? And especially to Chloe? No wonder Chloe accepted so easily. Adrien clenched his fists, boiling with anger. It wasn't fair! He was stuck in the middle, everyone was going against him, doing what ever they could to get what they wanted.
It made him think of himself. Marinette would have been so upset once she figure it out. Maybe it was best to tell her himself instead of having her figure the whole thing out and become so upset.
He didn't want to help his parents anymore. They were cheaters! They had gone against him, especially Gabriel. Did they also tell Chloe about what had been going on?
Adrien huffed and went inside his room. He was so done with this!

Going back to Marinette's bakery as a cat was a bit hard for Adrien. He kept reminding himself that he had to tell Marinette everything and fix everything before it was too late. Maybe... Maybe if he got Marinette to kiss him as a cat again, he could figure things out from there.
Marinette looked a bit upset when she saw him. She picked him and Tiki up and headed to her room, like she always did.
He wanted to ask what was wrong with her, but the only thing that came out of his mouth was a tiny meow. Marinette sighed and patted him.
"I guess you've figured out that something is wrong with me," She let out a sad smile before looking down. "I just don't know what's wrong with him. I know he's hiding something from me!"
Adrien winced on the inside, knowing she was talking about him. If she figured things out, she might even end things with him.
"I hope one day he comes clean," Marinette sighed. "Right now, you two are the only ones that I have. I don't know what I would do if you suddenly disappeared."
That took Adrien by surprise, and he realized something else. If he got Marinette to kiss him as a cat, then he wouldn't turn into a cat anymore. It would he the last time Marinette would ever see him as a cat, and maybe that would make her even more upset.
Maybe it was better not to do anything. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to end the curse at all. After all, he had fun always being with Marinette, as Adrien and as a cat.
Maybe it was really better to come clean. And that was exactly what he was going to do!
