Long chapter ahead.

Clementine

The trip ended a few days ago, and everyone had time to sort out all of their laundry and whatever else before returning back to school on Monday. But, being Sunday mid afternoon, Clem and Louis had their date.

Lee and Clementine were in her room, with her having a near mental breakdown.
He was sipping on his usual drink, totally calm.

"Dad, what am I meant to wear to a fair, which is a date?!" She groaned.

"Just wear something comfortable. Don't forget to take a coat though because it's going to rain later." Lee spoke, sipping his drink.

"That isn't useful. Should I wear a sweatshirt or a t-shirt?" His daughter asked, looking back and forth at two options.

"I think a sweatshirt. That ones nice." He said, pointing to a specific one.

Clem scrunched her face up at the top. "It's too childish." She huffed.

In the end, she ended up wearing the jumper that Lee picked out. It was a pale yellow colour, paired with simple jeans. And, as usual, no rips below the knees. She was going to wear simple trainers with them too.

"How do I look?" Clem asked, showing off the final choice.

"Nice. You look ready for a night on slot machines." Lee smiled, proud of his growing daughter.

Clem smiled in reply, and headed over for the seat next to the window, now in the living room. "Well then. All I need now is for Louis to let me know when he's coming over."

"Ya know, I'm glad that you found someone who is more than decent for you. Louis is a good lad, unlike that ex of yours." Lee said, speaking his thoughts.

The girl huffed. "I know. But that's all in the past. I don't think about her anymore." She admitted.

"Then I'm glad. Besides, you don't need to dwindle on the past when you have a boy who thinks the world of you, right now." Her dad responses, taking a seat opposite her.

Clem sighed, thinking of some memories from before moving state.
"One thing I regret is trusting her too much. I never thought things through and I regret some choices I made in that relationship." Finishing, she asked, "Do you think bending the truth is a lie?"

Lee sighed too. "It depends on the reason. You can't do it if it means the other person will be hurt, from learning the full truth."

Defeated, the girl responded "I guess you're right. I just wish I did things differently, after seeing how things are now."

Finishing his wise speech, Lee spoke, "Don't let it consume you. The best you can do is learn and move past them."

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks dad." Clem said with a small smile, realising he's right. Her dad was most definitely a wise man.

There was an unexpected knock at the door, and Lee was the first one to the door this time. At that, Clem started to get her shoes on.

"Clementine, Louis is here." He shouted, through the walls and inviting the boy in.

"I'm getting my shoes on as we speak!" She retorted, fighting with her last trainer before getting it on securely.
