I was lazely sitting on the sofa, scrolling through my phone, while mum was rushing around the apartment.
"Are you sure this is suitable" she asked for the hundredth time.
"Mum it's fine."
She sighed and gabbed her handbag. Tonight was her first date with Leo, the guy she had met through a dating app. They were meeting up at the Georgia Aquarium before going out to diner.
I stood up and gave her a big hug.
"Stop stressing, just go and have fun."
She laughed.
"I'm the one who's supposed to be giving you advice."
"You already have. Twice today" I said as I sat back down on the couch.
I was spending the evening at Kit's, and maybe even the night, seeing as Harper was with a friend and mum was going out.
She checked her watch again and leaned over to give me a kiss on the forehead before rushing out of the apartment.

The sky was filled with big dark clouds and I hurried, hoping to get home before the storm started.
I was a couple of streets away when the first drops started to fall and a roll of thunder was heard.
The people around me opened up their umbrellas as I rushed down the pavement, my jacket held open over my head as I tried to protected myself from the pourring.
I was watching my steps, careful of the puddles and slippery stones when I bumped into something hard.
"Sorry" I mumbled trying to get past.
"Emily?!" the familiar voice was surprised.
"Kit?!" I realised, finally looking up.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, raising his umbrella above my head.
I was trying to keep myself for turning up at yours, hours in advance.
"Oh, I was just returning some books to the library when I was surprised by the storm" I shrugged.
He shook his head and gave me his umbrella.
"What are you doing?" I asked in shook as he started to undress.
"Here" he handed me is coat "you're soaked and I don't want you catching cold."
I smiled as I slipped it on.
"What are you hiding?" I looked down at his left arm that he kept hidden behind his back.
He sighed, showing me the lovely bouquet with a mix bright flowers. Daffodils, lilac, red and orange ranunclus, tulips and snap dragons.
"I was going to give them to you tonight but seeing as you're here and I need to protect them from the rain it wouldn't of gone unnoticed" he explained.
I looked at them with a smile. No one has ever bought me flowers before but it was a lovely feeling.
I gave him a quick peek on the lips before sprinting to our building and closing the door in his face.
