It was much to early to wake up on Sunday but, my hair pulled into a ponytail, I quickly got dressed and creeped down the corridor

I decided to take the stairs, my hand sliding along the metal railing, enjoying the sound of my own footsteps. I pulled open the glass door and steped out on the street. I crossed the road and turned a corner.

Seeing as it was near summer, the sun was already up and the sky was a lovely pale blue.

I wondered through the city, people watching.
Most of them were families, either dressed up to go to church or simply taking their kids out for breakfast.
Old couples just sat on the benches, appreciating each other's company.

I arrived at the park that was mostly empty apart from a couple of runners and the odd person walking round with a camera, capturing the scenery's beauty.

I turned a corner and waited at a zebra crossing when I spotted a familiar figure, jogging over the end of the road. I went a little dreamy, my lips tugging into a smile, as Kit desapeared into the city. I crossed and made my way back home, still as joyful as I was when I'd left.

I silently creeped back in my apartment and hurried to my room. After slipping my shoes off and making my bed, I walked into the kitchen. It was empty.

I went to Harper's room to find my sister curled up in her blanket, breathing heavily. I wasn't expecting her to wake up any time soon, she had played a very good game last night and had gotten hone near 1:00 a.m.

Mum wasn't in her room but I heard water running and suspected she was taking a shower.

I made myself breakfast, grabbed my library book and sat next to the window, eating and reading.

"Good morning honey."

I jumped as I saw my mother walking into the living area.

"Morning mum" I quickly great, not even looking up from my book.

"How did you sleep?"

"Great" I mumble, still reading.

She entered the kitchen and I heard the coffee machine.

She appeared seconds later, a hot mug in her hand, and sat down in front of me.

"What are you reading?"

"..... by Simon Elkeles" I automatically answered.

She frowned.

"Weren't you reading Red Blood or something like that?" she asked, a little confused.

"Blood Red Road" I corrected "and I finished it."

She nodded, sipping her coffee.

"And so what's this one about?"

I tried not to get to annoyed as she interrupted me once again.

"Love story" I said just as my sister walked in with a loud yawn.

I sighed, put my breakfast plate away and disappeared in my room with my book, knowing full well Harper wasn't going to stop about her "wonderful" tournament that brought her and her friends the most "epic" victory.

I groaned as someone knocked, cutting me in the middle of their first kiss. My door opened and mum walked in.

"Yes?"

"I would like to talk to you."

I put my book down, a little worried, as she sat down on my bed.

"I signed myself up on a dating site" she announced.

"Ok" I answered, very surprised.

After the divorce, she had put her love life on hold, not wanting to impose any more big changing but also not looking. The fact that she actually signed up meant that she wanted to find someone.

"Is there a reason why your telling me this now?"

"I've been speaking with someone. Leo."

I nodded as she watched me a little nervous.

"I wanted you to know that I want someone in my life and I didn't want to have to suddenly announce something to you. I am looking and it might go further with Leo."

"Well, I'm happy for you."

"Really?" she asked, relieved.

"Of course!"

"I thought that maybe, with the situation between you and your father, you might not... accept it" she admitted.

"The situation between me and my father is between us. And I'd be more then happy if you find the one."

"Thank you."

She kissed my forehead and I followed her into the kitchen to make myself a sandwich.

She sat down on the sofa with Harper who was going through magazines. I cuddle myself in the armchair and turned on Netflix.

Yes, I know this is a filler chapter. Sorry but I can't upload all the "important" chapters straight away, the story would go much to quick and it would be unrealistic.

Promise next chapter will be much better 😉
