We were Wednesday and I was rushing around the empty flat making sure I wasn't forgetting anything. Just as I put the cool water bottles in my backpack the doorbell rang.

"Hey" I greeted.

"Hey, you ready?" he asked.

"Yeah, just a sec."

I got my bag and keys and locked the apartment before following him down the stairs and into the carpark.

Kit took out his car keys and the lights of a black Jeep flashed.

"Wait, that's yours?" I stared in awe.

"Yeah, a birthday present from my grandparents."

God, I wish I had family that bought me expensive cars for my birthday.

"When was your birthday?" I curiously asked.

"February, 22th."

"Well, happy belated birthday."

"Thanks" he chuckled.

We dumped our bags in the boot and I climbed onto the passenger sit. I sent a quick text to Lexi saying that we just left and we sat in silence.

"Do you mind if I put the music on?" I asked after a moment.

"No, sure, go ahead."

I switched on the radio and turned to Kit to see if he was okay with this channel but he was already lipsyncing to the rap kind of song.

"What?" he asked as he caught me starring at him.

"Nothing" I blushed and quickly turned to look out the window.

"Do, re, mi, fa, so fuckin' done with you, girl
So fuckin' done with all the games you play
I ain't no tic-tac-toe
Send the X and O's on the other note

I'm do, re, mi, fa, so fuckin' done with you, baby
So send the X and O's on another note, I'm a ghost"

"Hey, this is what you sang a couple of days ago, in the shower, isn't it?" I exclaimed.

He went red and I looked down, playing with my fingers.
In all the times we crossed each other we have stayed silent about the subject and I maybe shouldn't have brought it up. I am as embarrassed as him but I really don't want our little duets to stop.

"Yes..." he finally answered "Do, re, mi by Blackbear."

I nodded and the rest of the ride happened in an awkward silence.

The gravel scrunched under the tires, making big clouds of dust. The small parking was near empty as Kit pulled up next to three guys, leaning against a red pick-up truck.

We got out, Kit being pulled into bro huges as I walked around to join them.

"Guys, this is Emily" he introduced, "Em, this is Sam" he said pointing to a tanned guy with brown curls, "this is Peter" a tad smaller then Sam, he was fair skined with light brown hair, "and this is Leo."

"Hey" the mixe-raced boy smiled.

"Hi."

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I received a text from Lexi:

Lexi: Nearly there

Emily: K, see you shortly

A couple minutes later, Jen's brother drived into the car park. Lexi jumped from the passenger seat and came and joined us.
