Chapter 17: His Pretty Princess

His soft hair slipped through my fingers and his breath was tickling my neck.

"Follow me" he whispered in my ear before planting a kiss on my check.

He pulled back, taking my hand in his and I followed him through the city.

We had finished school an hour ago and, like most days now, we had met up to grab a snack and do something. Kit had brought me to all the art galleries and museums he's been forced to visit as a kid and I showed him the small, hidden streets and shops, full of color and vintage treasures, that I'd found exploring with my sister or the girls.

We ended up in square, surrounded by old buildings and cafés, with a fountain as centrepiece.

"Emily, meet Zeus."

"Oh, because you know him?" I laughed.

"Not personally, no" he chuckled "but that's besides the point."

His arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer.

"This is one of his daughters, the goddess of beauty" he pointed to one of the beautiful statue carved on the side "for the Romans, it's Venus. For the Greek, it's Aphrodite..."

He leaned in, his mouth at my ear.

"For me, it's you."

I turned bright red but before I could say anything, he kissed me swiftly before pulling me down another street.

We stopped in front of an art gallerie and he paused before an old painting of a big ship under a starry night.

"Captains and sailors used to use the stars to guide them."

He took booth of my hands, his eyes starring deep into mine.

"You are my star Emily. And, like those sailors, I'm lost without you."

My heart skipped a beat and a bunch of butterflies took off in my stomach.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

He was looking down at me with his hopefull sea grin eyes.

"I..."

I was lost for words and just stared at him with a big grin.

His eyes turned nervous and his smile drooped.

"I guess that's a no" his hands slide out of mine.

"No! I mean, yes."

I threw my arms around his neck.

"I would love to be your girlfriend."

His hand rested on my waist and he found his smile.

"Thank you. Hope you don't regret it..."

"Why would I regret it?"

"Well, you did hesitate."

"Sorry, about that. It took me by suprise" I smiled.

I rose up onto my toes to be able to capture his lips with mine but he pulled away with a cocky smile.

I watched him surprised as he gave me a pick on the nose before three small kisses on my awaiting lips.

"I like you Em" he whispered "very much."

It was a little early to say "I love you" but I knew I was falling.

She was in the kitchen, making diner, when I choose to announce that Kit and I were together. I decided it was best to just tell her instead of making up lies about going out or seeing him more often.

"Mum?" I asked while setting the table with Harper.

"Huh?"

"Remember Kit, our neighbour" I started.

"Yes" my sister replied, all ears.

"Well... we talked quit a lot and saw each other a couple of times" I said grabbing the plates.

"Do you like him?" asked Harper.

"Kit and I are going out together."

I smiled at the thought as I poured the water.

"Okay" my mother answered cooking.

"Okay? That's it?" I sounded a surprised.

I was expecting 21 questions followed by the talk.

"Well, he seems like a nice guy" she said a little wary "how long have you two been seeing each other?"

"Two or three weeks."

"Did he take you on a date?" she asked with a happy smile as we sat down to eat.

"Yeah, a couple" I replied vaguely.

I didn't went to get busted on the evening I spent at his.

"Have you kissed yet?" Harper asked eagerly.

I shot daggers at my sister while managing a small "yes" beteween my clenched teeth.

"Is he a good kisser?"

I went bright red and looked at my mum who was also waiting, curious.

"Yes..."

I looked down at my plate, embarrassed.

"I hope you two are being safe."

"Mum, we haven't..."

"Oh! Oh, okay. Well, when you do, I expect you to be safe. And if there is any problem be sure to come and tell me" she had that wary expression again.

I simply nodded suddenly very interested on what was on my plate.

Luckly she didn't push it and the conversation subject soon turned.

Emily: Told them, she was completely cool with (although she did give me The talk) ♡

Kit: Happy you told her, now I won't feel as if I'm hiding something from her. Although now it risks to get a little awkward 😂  Sleep well Pretty Princess xxx
