The marching band had just finished playing and the football players had entered the pitch. Lexie and Ava arrived with drinks and food. Great, I was starving.

"Who asked for Coke?" Lexie asked.

"Me!" answered 5 different voices, including me.

"Okay we've got pop corn, cookies..." listed Ava.

"Cookies!"

She gave me the packet which I ripped open and took three cookies before passing it down to the others.

"There's candy floss if any of you want to go get some" she said sitting down on the bench next us.

We took it in shifts cheering for our team and, all though my muscles ached, I was hyper from all the sugar I had eaten. It was a tight game but the Kings ended up winning, 48 to 41.

"Well done boys. It was a tough game" congratulated Coach.

"You did good Eagles" we cheered.

"I think we did pretty well... Seeing as I scored at least half of our points."

"Shut up Cole" moaned Izaac, throwing his water bottle at him.

"So, what's happening now?" asked Alex.

"Get changed and go back to my place?" suggested Calvin.

The boys agreed and went to the gym to take a shower.

"Yeah... Yeah ok... see you in a bit, love you" Liv hang up.

"Who was it?"

"My dad. His picking me up just know."

"Why? Weren't you supposed to leave tomorrow?"

"Yes but because the game didn't finish that late we decided, well my parents decided, we should leave now which means we'll arrive earlier at Carole's."

"Any of you coming with us?" Lexie asked joining us.

"No I'm leaving but thanks" smiled Liv.

"You sure? There's only Ava, Skye, Sophie and I."

"What about the other girls?" (This was curious me speaking).

"Some are leaving as well but I know that Jen and Demi are going to the boys party. What about you?"

"I think I'm going to go home" I answered.

I was exhausted and didn't feel like partying and even if I did I don't think I would go with Jen and Demi. They're great friends but I know for a fact that they can get a little out of control espacially if there are drinks and boys involved.

We found our way back to the looker-room and got changed into our clothes from earlier which were shorts and a hoodie. I sais goodbye to my best friend, wishing her a good time with her family and walked out of the gym. As I did I spoted the blond guy I bumped into twice.

"Hey, Grayson!" I called, reading the back of his jersey.

He turned around and walked towards me.

"You don't have to call me Grayson you know" he smiled.

"I actually don't know your name" I admitted.

"Kit."

He held out his hand and I shook it.

"Emily."

He had placed himself next to me and we were slowly walking back to the benches.

"Congrats on the game."

"Thanks, but it was team work" he said "Your stunts were pretty good too. Can't believe none of you broke anything."

"Team work. It's a good job we trust each other."

"No but seriously, how can you get your leg up so high? And aren't any of you afraid of hights?"

"Well, I am. That's why Liv never puts me high up in the pyramids."

"Liv?"

"Our captain. Brown hair, lighter then mine, she did the aerial at the end."

"I don't know what an aerial is Emily."

"It's a cartwheel without our hands" I tried to explain.

He just nodded and we ended up in one of those awkward silences. Why did I call him over again?

"I've gotta go" I announced.

"Leaving already?"

"Yeah, my mum's picking me up" I said backtracking towards the parking.

Just then my mum's car pulled up next to us, windows rolled down.

"See you around."

I climbed into the car and mum leaned over.

"Kit?" my mother called.

"Mrs. Black?" he turned, suprised.

"You go to Western High?"

"No, I'm from LKHS."

My mum nodded.

"Wait. You know each other?" I asked, not understanding.

"Of course. Emily this is Kit Grayson our neighbour" mum turned to Kit. "This is my eldest daughter, Emily."

We just stared at each other in shook. Kit was our neighbour. My duet partner. I went red of embarrassment at the thought.

"Do you need a ride?" mum asked.

Please say no, please say no, please...

"No. No I'm fine thanks" he replied still looking at me.

"Well, we'll see you soon then. Goodbye Kit."

"Goodbye Mrs. Black. See ya Emily."

He stepped back and mum drove off. As I looked into the mirror I catched a glimpse of his smile.

I got home and collapsed on my bed not even bothering to change into my PJ's. I closed my eyes, expecting to fall asleep quickly but I didn't. Instead I turned and turned with an awful knot in my stomach.

Kit...

That was the name of my duet partner. The guy that spent hours singing with me under the shower. And I went from only being able to guess his music tast to meeting him, putting a name on the face, learning that he plays football and goes to Luther King High School, in less then a day.
Of course I was overall embarrassed, I mean this guy heard me sing (which I can't by the way), but I had to admit that I didn't really mind that it was him - a hot teenager, rather then an old man.

I finally managed to fall asleep, going through diverse scenarios in my mind of how Kit and I would meet again.
