My mum checked her make-up and hair one last time before grabbing her handbag and heading for the door.
"Be ready at 1!" she cried.
"Yep, we will!" Harper shouted back.
"Ok, bye. Love you" she said kissing me.
"Love you too."
I held the door open as she left the apartment and I was about to close it when I heard my mother's voice.
"Oh, hello Kit."
I ducked behind the door, not wanting him to see me, but left it slitely open to spy on their conversation. I really should stop doing this.
"Hello Mrs. Black. How are you?" he politely asked.
"I'm fine, thank you."
I could hear the clattere of keys as he unlocked his apartment.
"Mily!"
I jumped, nearly slamming the door shut.
"What?!" I whispered/shouted to my sister.
I waited for answere but didn't get one. She probably didn't hear me. I quickly joined her in the kitchen but she wasn't there.
"Where are you?"
"In the toilets!" she shouted back.
"What do you want?" I asked, frustrated. I was messing the whole conversation.
"Toilet paper, duh."
I rolled my eyes before running into the bathroom and grabbing a roll of toilet paper.
Before bringing it to her, I stop at the door where my mum and Kit were still talking, catching the end of her sentence.
"... dinner with us?" mum asked.
WHAT????!!!
"I'd love too. Should I bring anything?"
"No of course not. Let's say eight o'clock, shall we?"
"Perfect."
"Well, I'll see you later then."
"Good bye Mrs. Black, have a nice day."
I heared mum's heels against the tiles as she walked over to the elevator and our neighbours door close as he went inside.
"EMILY!"
This time I did slame the door shut and ran to my sister. I left her the toilet roll and disappeared to my room.

It was a lovely afternoon and people had took advantage of the blue sky and bright sun. Piedmont Park was crowded, filled with runners, skaters, bikers, families and groups of friends. I sat down on a warm bench, took off my shoes and laced on my bright red roller blades. After tying my shoe laces together and attaching theme to my belt, I got up and joined my sister near the fountain.
Mum was slowly rollerblading behind us while Harper and I were racing around like crazy. We slalomed round the park and I tried to teach her how to rollerblade backwards.
