Crushing Over Coffee (Stray Kids Felix x reader)

Felix's words echoed in Y/n's head. "See you around?" What did that mean? He sounded hopeful. Does he want to see me again? Or was he just being polite? Ugh, why is he doing this to me? Y/n operated in a trance-like state for the rest of her shift, contemplating all the possibilities. When Felix had left he'd given her a cheeky wink and a two-finger salute as he'd walked out of the door which had made her burst into a fit of giggles and earned her a reproachful look from her manager.

A few days passed and there was no sign of Felix. Y/n was starting to lose hope that she'd see him again. She traipsed into work, her spirits low. Confused by the lack of her colleagues, she turned to her manager questioningly.

"Soojin and Taehyun have gone off on holiday together so we'll have to manage by ourselves today." She answered. Great - thought Y/n - They're a cute couple and I'm happy for them but I really don't have the energy for this. Slowly, she made her way behind the counter and mentally prepared herself for the stress that would follow. The door opened and her first customer entered the café.

She plastered a fake smile on her face but then she heard an unmistakably low voice say, "Hi there Y/n. Good to see you again." It sent shivers down her spine and soon her pretend smile transformed into a genuine grin.

"Hey Felix, I was beginning to give up on you," she said playfully.

"So you were waiting for me, huh?" he smirked, raising an eyebrow and giving her a look that made her gulp. Y/n rolled her eyes and laughed it off, not letting on how much he affected her.

"What can I get for you? Another caramel macchiato?"

"Actually I'm in more of an americano mood today."

"No problem." After he handed her the correct change, she added, "You can go sit down if you want, I'll bring it over in a minute." Felix nodded his thanks and headed over to his corner spot.

Soon Y/n brought him his drink and Felix looked up from his phone to ask "Sooo, any particular reason you're all by yourself today?"

"It turns out my colleagues decided to go off on a romantic holiday without any warning. Any particular reason you're interested? Don't tell me you're actually here to see Soojin instead." she replied jokingly.

"Don't be ridiculous," he scoffed with a mischievous glint in his eyes, "I'm here for the manager of course."

Once again Felix had Y/n in hysterics and she walked away to deal with other customers still chuckling. Damn this boy is funny, he really cracks me up. Then her manager came running out from the back looking panicked. "Okay, I'll be there soon, don't worry." she said into her phone before hanging up and turning to Y/n.

"Y/n, I'm so sorry but a family emergency has come up and I have to go. Do you think you can manage alone?"

"I-I mean it's the busiest time of day but I can try." She tried to say it with confidence but honestly, Y/n wasn't sure she could handle the café on her own right now.

"No, you're right," her manager continued, running her hand through her hair, "maybe I should just close the café.."

"No, you can't do that!" Y/n exclaimed.

"Umm, maybe I could help?". Felix interjected. They both turned around in surprise.

"Who are you?" the manager asked sharply.

"A friend of Y/n's," he responded swiftly, "and I'd be happy to help her manage the café whilst you're gone."

Y/n was speechless from a combination of his generosity and hearing him call himself her friend. Was this really happening?

The manager sighed, "I guess that will have to do. Thank you young man." With that she patted his arm and rushed out of the doors.

Still in shock and trying to process what just occurred, Y/n stood there with her mouth slightly open. Felix reached a finger under her chin and closed it for her. "Well then," he said leaning in even closer so that his face was level with hers and his breath tickled her cheeks, "looks like it's just us."
