Hold on

Felix flashed her a grin and jumped up. Reaching out his hand to help Y/n, he made a suggestion:

"All this flirting has made me feel rather hot and it seems like you are too. Why don't we pack up and grab an iced coffee?"

"Sure." Y/n answered, taking his outstretched hand and hauling herself from the floor.

After they had disposed of the rubbish and put what remained back in the hamper, the pair began wandering through the park again. Y/n's hand soon found itself back in Felix's and the need for a cooling drink increased as both remained permanently flushed throughout the endeavour to find a nearby coffee shop.

About 10 mins later, they were sat down by the window in a café enjoying their refreshing drinks and watching the bustling streets in front of them. Y/n finished her drink first and sat back as Felix continued to leisurely sip his.

"Sooooo, do the memebers know you are out with me right now?"

Felix shook his head and put his iced americano down.

"No. There are pretty strict dating rules under JYP, like most entertainment companies, so I was going to keep us a secret for now."

Y/n nodded in understanding when Felix hurriedly added, "Not that I don't trust them to not let it slip that I have a girlfriend but it's just safer this way."

Her eyebrows shot up. "Girlfriend, huh? I knew this was a date but I don't remember you asking me to be your girlfriend."

His eyes grew wide as he realised he hadn't asked her yet, although he had been intending to at the picnic but had been distracted. Composing himself, Felix cleared his throat.

"Y/n, will you do me the honour of being my girlfriend?"

"Your secret girlfriend?" she clarified.

Felix appeared rather sheepish as he confirmed, "Yes, my secret girlfriend."

Y/n beamed and placed her hand on his, "I would be delighted." Once again, Felix suddenly became very warm and hurriedly gulped down more of his drink.

Unfortunately, after they had finished their coffees, Felix had to start walking Y/n home since he had a busy schedule to return to.

As they were making their way through Seoul, they suddenly heard someone calling their names.

"Y/n! Felix! Over here!"

They both whirled around to see Chan across the street, waving at them with a broad smile on his face. Felix quickly let go of her hand and tried to look natural, shoving the hamper behind his back. Y/n, unsure what to do, gave Chan a nervous smile and waved back. When the traffic cleared, Chan bounded towards them, eager to greet his friends.

"Hey, guys! What are two doing here?"

"Oh, er - well, you know. We just, um," Felix looked around wildly to try to think of a plausible excuse.

"We... just bumped into each other at a café." Y/n answered, merging truth with fiction to ease her guilt.

The anxious boy beside her nodded forcefully, "Yep, that's right. We saw each other in a café."

"The one you work at?" Chan asked Y/n.

"Er, no. I was on the other side of the park so this one was closer."

"Ah, I see. But what's with the picnic hamper Lix?"

"Hm?", he glanced down at the hamper which he had managed to only partially hide, "Oh, this old thing? I... was hungry... and it's a nice day, right? So, I decided to have a picnic. By myself. Just me. No one else."

"Riiiight...." Chan narrowed his eyes and looked at Y/n, who was shifting from one foot to the other and kept staring at the floor. When he caught her eye, she gave a little shrug. Chan decided to dismiss his suspicion and act normal. "Well, now that we're all here I might as well walk with you. Where are we going?"

"Oh, Lix was just walking me home before going back to the company."

"Okay, let's go then!"

"You really don't need to," Felix assured his hyung, "If you have other stuff to do that's fine, I can handle it."

"No no. I was heading back too, just taking this longer route means I get to spend more time with you both."

As the three continued to walk back to Y/n's dorm, Chan continued to chat away cheerily with the other two mostly just agreeing with what he said or answering direct questions. Chan came to an abrupt halt in front of some concrete steps, halting the group. He turned to them.

"You two are acting very strange. What's going on?"

The pair both opened their mouths to answer when some high school kids barged past, yelling and accidentally pushing Y/n. Losing her balance, she yelped as she tumbled down several steps and fell to the floor. The boys rushed down to help her but she threw up a hand to stop them.

"It's fine, I'm fine."

"Are you sure? Are you hurt?" Felix couldn't contain the panic rising in his voice.

Y/n nodded and tried to get up but her ankle gave it and she cried out in pain. This time, both Chan and Felix were able to catch her and they each took one arm to support her.

Chan frowned down at her foot. "This isn't good, it might be sprained." Assuming his role as a leader, he began formulating a plan. "I'll run ahead to the company and get our physiotherapist to meet you in the lobby, having informed him what has happened. Felix, do you think you can support Y/n all the way back on your own?"

"Of course," he answered. Y/n had never heard him sound so serious, it wasn't like she'd broken anything. "Can you take the basket though, it will be easier that way."

"Good idea, see you soon." And with that, Chris ran off.

Y/n turned her head to Felix, completely baffled by their extreme concern over her minor ankle injury but Felix had his back to her and was now crouching.

"I'll give you a piggyback, get on."

"I'm not sure that's entirely necessary, we can just walk."

"You are mistaken if you think I'm going to let you limp all the way there. Come on." he wiggled his hands for emphasis and Y/n conceded, clambering onto his back.

Felix grunted as he stood up and shifted her weight on his back.

"Don't worry, I'll get you there soon," he murmured with exceptional gentleness and determination simultaneously, "just hold on."
