Felix paced anxiously outside the physiotherapist's office as he examined Y/n's ankle. Chan had wanted to stay too but had been summoned elsewhere. The door finally opened and she hobbled out, smiling and thanking the man for his help. Rushing towards her, Felix placed one hand on her hip, the other on the side of her face as he surveyed her. His face was etched with worry.
"Is it serious? What did he say? How do you feel?" a torrent of questions came spewing out of his mouth.
Y/n gave a little laugh and waved him off. "I'm fine. No need to fuss - apparently it's just a sprain and I should rest it for a few days."
He nodded gravely and chewed on his lip. "Okay then, that's exactly what you'll do. Let's get you home and tucked up in bed."
As he spoke, Felix scooped Y/n up in his arms and began heading for the exit.
"Oh my gosh, Felix - no. Put me down. I don't want you to get hurt too."
He clenched his jaw and his grip on her tightened in stubborn defiance.
"Please Felix," she said quietly, "just help me walk there, don't put any extra strain on yourself and jeopardise your career for me."
Slowing to stop, he looked at her and took a deep breath. Then, Felix gently lowered her to the ground, keeping one arm wrapped around his neck.
"If you get too tired or it seems like you're in a lot of pain, I'm picking you up again. No objections."
Y/n rolled her eyes but her lips twitched, betraying her amusement. Together, they made their way back to the dorms and, despite her protests, she was once again literally swept off her feet by Felix since he insisted that she was in no fit state to go up all of those stairs. She was only released when Felix had safely deposited her onto her bed. He then proceeded to plump the pillows on Y/n's bed, stuffing them behind her back afterwards and tucking the duvet around her. Once this task had been completed, Felix continued to dote on her, bringing her water and snacks and asking if she needed anything. This left Y/n completely dumbfounded and a little bemused by his enthusiasm to take care of her. When he was eventually called back to the company and satisfied that Eunhee could handle looking after her roommate on her own, he seemed reluctant to leave. He kissed Y/n on the top of her head and promised to visit her often to check up on her before saying goodbye. As soon as he had left, Eunhee started interrogating her friend on what had happened so intensely, that Y/n was relieved when Eunhee got a call from her on-and-off-boyfriend and, exhausted, she drifted off to sleep.
It was the middle of the afternoon the next day and Y/n was becoming increasingly restless. Felix had stopped by in the morning and made her a cup of coffee, which had been nice and put her in a good mood but now she'd had enough. It was weird how there were plenty of days where Y/n would have been perfectly content to stay in bed all day reading a book or watching Netflix but now that she was being told to do that, it didn't seem as appealing. Indeed, Y/n felt like she was under house arrest or something and she needed to get out. As luck would have it, Eunhee was heading off to meet up with him, meaning that no one would be there to stop Y/n from leaving the dorm.
She peered over at the guitar in the corner of her room and a grin spread across Y/n's face. Oh well, I do have to make up for the money I lost from this morning's café shift that I had to miss. Snatching it up, Y/n made sure she looked presentable and went off in search of a good spot. Her limp was only slight and didn't cause her much pain but it was enough to make her want to stay close to the dorms. Soon she found a bench a the side of a fairly busy square nearby. Y/n settled herself down and began to play.
Chan had cleared some space in his timetable today to go and visit Y/n. He felt partially responsible for her fall and he realised that he was particularly protective over her. In fact, Chan was fairly eager to see Y/n again and found himself thinking that it had become a habit of his to seek out Y/n whenever he had spare time. As he was walking to her place, he spotted a crowd gathering up ahead. Curiosity pulled him out of his thoughts of Y/n and tugged him towards the growing number of people. It was then he heard a soft voice, floating on the wind and accompanied by a guitar. The melody danced around his head in sweet tones as he neared the crowd and he realised it was one of his favourite songs, Lego House by Ed Sheeran. Entranced by the music, he pushed through the people and beheld the owner of that beautiful voice.
There on the bench sat Y/n, pouring her heart and soul into every word, every note, so that Chan could practically feel her essence around him; feel her emotions as if they were his own. Breathless, he was transfixed by the pure beauty of her, but not once did she lift her eyes from the guitar to meet his. Chan longed for her to look up, to direct the words of the song at him, to notice his existence. At last, she lifted her eyes to the crowd for the final part.
"I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done, I'll love you better now"
When she was finished, Y/n received rapturous applause but neither Chan nor Y/n moved as their eyes locked. After a long moment, Y/n looked away and smiled at her audience. She thanked them humbly and began packing away her guitar. The crowd gradually dispersed but still Chan remained unmoved, his eyes never leaving her until she walked up to him, her face glowing with that radiant smile of hers.
"Hey there Chan, wasn't expecting to see you here."
He blinked, trying to regain his composure, but he couldn't seem to bring himself to do anything other than stare. Y/n lightly touched his arm and frowned in concern.
"Christopher?"
Hearing that name from her lips shocked him enough to bring him back to his senses. He gulped and flashed her a sheepish smile.
"Haha, yeah - sorry. I was actually on my way to visit you but I certainly didn't expect to see you here." he paused for a second. "I didn't know you could sing."
"Eh well, only a little bit. I've never been a very confident singer but I enjoy it and since I couldn't do my café shift today because of my ankle, I thought why not try to earn a little bit of cash this way. Did you like it?"
Her eyes grew wider as she looked up at him and she fiddled with edges of her sleeves a little. The corner of Chan's mouth quirked up and he replied.
"Very much. You're really something special Y/n."
At this, she blushed slightly and rocked backwards and forwards on her heels. Suddenly, Chan remembered that he had come because of her injured ankle and instantly offered to take her guitar case whilst they grabbed some coffee. Much to his delight, she agreed to both. They spent the rest of the afternoon discussing their favourite songs to sing and debating which worked better as acoustic versions. His time with Y/n left Chan buzzing and as he wandered back, having dropped her off at the dorms, he came to the conclusion that he was crushing on her - hard. After this realisation he began to wonder: maybe I should confess?
