(Y/n) pov

“so meli, where are we going?” I sitting down across the bar from him.

“we're looking for escanor. We're going to go from town to town to try to gather information” meliodas answers.

“oh I miss escanor” I rest my chin on my hand.

“Excuse me, captain of scraps disposal coming through!” I hear before seeing a pig make their way through some chairs.

“what the hell?! a talking pig!” I freak out.

“(y/n), you already met him. Why are you only reacting to him now?” King asks.

“I, I was drunk. I didn't think it actually happened!” I continue to overreact.

“you made Ban kiss him” Diane laughed.

“twice” King adds, laughing with her.

“don't remind me” Hawk whines.

“I guess i remember that, but I didn't think it was real. I was really drunk” I say, rubbing the side of my head
“so about how long until we get to the next town?” I ask right when the entire tavern makes a huge thump make me fall off the stool.

“I'd say about now” meliodas says.

“Damn (y/n), I thought you had better balance than that." Ban says, his arm around my waist keeping me steady and on my feet.

"I do. Just not when we suddenly stop and drop twenty feet. When did you get there? Why am I the only one that fell?" I pout.

Ban slowly lets go of me, making sure I'm on my feet.

“oh, (y/n), so everyone here helps with the tavern, so I was going to give you a job” meli tells me.

“ok then I can cook!” I say cheerfully.

“actually I was thinking you could be a waitress with elizabeth and Diane ” He replies.

“yeah, ok, I guess I can do that” My enthusiasm is gone.

“ok great but you'll have to wear the tavern uniform” Meli holds up a small folded pile of clothes.

“...Ok” I hesitate to take the pile of clothes.

“Now go get dressed. Customers should start coming in any moment now. Diane, we need you to advertise.” Meliodas instructs.

‘Let's see how bad this is.’ I try to figure out how the small amount of fabric was supposed to fit. Meli must have underestimated my size. The skirt barely covers the bare minimum, and I struggle to button up the top.

I look in the mirror, feeling vulnerable and self-conscious.

Sighing, I decide to get over it, still tempted to yell at meli when I go back into the community area of the Boar Hat.

“Perfect timing (y/n). You can take care of the table over there.” Meli doesn't hesitate to throw me into the deep end, handing me a notepad before walking away.

“Wait meli!”Myy yelling just draws everyones attention  except for meliodas's.
"Shit." I mumble, walking over to the table.

“Are we all set to order? Or do you still need some time?” I put on a big fake smile, trying to present as confidant and untouchable, as the group gives me their orders.

I write everything down, then head to the kitchen. But seeing Ban shatters my shield of confidence. The last thing I wanted was for him to see me like this.

“Ban... do I give this to you?” I rip a page out of the mini book and hold it up.

“Captain really got you to wear that?” Ban laughs, looking me up and down.

“Shut up.” I blush.

“Yeah, you give that to me” Ban takes the paper.

"Thank you." I sigh, walking away, but I exit the kitchen, causing someone to bump into me.

“Sorry!” a soprano voice apologizes, from the floor, a girl in the same 'uniform' as me.

"Are you ok?" I hold out a hand for her.

"Y-yeah," she lets me help her up.

"Elizabeth, right? You probably don't remember me, but I used to be assigned as your guard." I try to sound indifferent, afraid to show how much getting to watch her ment to me.

It would make me feel so special and loved when she would reach for me, sometimes even over her father.

I still have a little stick figure drawing she drew of her and I picking flowers. For a long time, while I felt like I didn't have much of a place among the sins, she was my little, adorable, sunshine, keeping me sane while I was forced to stay alive.

"Sorry, no, I don't remember. You're (y/n), though, right? I'm really happy you've joined the sins, though I wasn't even aware there was an elephant sin." She forces a laugh.

I didn't know I had let myself have any hope that she would remember me, but all I could do was nod and give a thin smile. Anything else could break the damn holding back my emotions.
