(Y/n) pov

"I just realized I never asked for your name." Danny says sitting with me on the green wooden steps in front of the Boar Hat.

"I'm (y/n), (l/n)." I tell him.

"Its been lovely to meet you (y/n) (l/n)." He tells me.
"I wish we could have met under better circumstances."

"I'm just glad we got meet." I smile, but tears start falling again.

"Can I, would it be ok, would you be comfortable with me hugging you?" He asks.

"Yes... please." I feel like I'm begging. There's nothing I want more right now than to be in his arms.

I cry, listening to his heartbeat. I feel like I'm home again. Feeling like I'm truly loved again, even if he has no idea who I really am.

He pulls me close and arms around my waist and an arm around my shoulders. Despite his hesitant words, his hug is tight like he needed it as much as I do.

"(Y/n)?!" His arms became tighter for a moment.

"hmm?"

"No, no, (y/n) (l/n)! (N/n)!?" He lets go a bit, grabbing my shoulders and looking into my eyes.

"D-Danny?" My heart races.

"Why do you look the exact same?! You haven't aged at all!" He runs his fingers through my hair, stopping to hold the side of my face.

"I'm so happy you remember me." I smile, with tears streaming down my face.

"Why did I ever forget?" His face matches mine.

We cry together, staring into each other's glossy eyes, until he leans in to kiss me. It's soft until it's passionate. No matter how close we get, it's not enough, but he eventually needs to breathe.

"I thought you were dead all this time." My voice is weak.

"I've been here." He rests his forehead against mine.
"I tried to get back to you. I tried for years, but I was always shit at navigating that forest. When I finally got through, everything was gone, every building completely crushed."

"I love you. I'm so grateful you're alive." I hold his hand tight.

"Marry me..." He grips my hand.

"What?" My heart jumps.

"I love you, I love you more than I've been able to love anyone else. I can't lose you again." He lifts a chain out from underneath his shirt, revealing a ring attached to it. He pulls down breaking the chain, then gets down on one knee.

"Danny."

"(Y/n) (l/n), I love you. This was your mother's ring. The king gave it to me after I had asked for his blessing months before I got lost. You are my everything. I've loved you since we were teenagers. I love you. (Y/n) (m/n) (l/n), will you marry me?" He holds up the ring.

"Yes, ok." I smile.

He stands up to hug and kiss me.

"I love you." I tell him as he slips the ring onto my finger.
