Chapter 22

Monday
Clare's pov
I was the first one to wake up and when I looked at my phone I saw it was ten in the morning which isn't that early but not too late either way it wouldn't matter because our flight to London isn't till three Pm, so to kill time I started posting some of the pictures we took yesterday and three minutes later the group chat started blowing up so I put my phone on silent because I don't want to wake Alena and Tina.

Katie: why didn't you tell us you were in LA!?!?
Sarah: you could have gone to the party last night it was sick
Valerie: not to mention you could have stopped Ricky from shoving his tongue down his new toy
Clare: I didn't tell you guys because I was only going to be here for two days and one of them was for the five feet apart premiere
Chloe: but you had time to hang out with a bunch of youtubers?  Come on don't tell me your turning on us girl
Clare: I am not! I met them at the premiere and they asked if we could do a video with them, I am still the same girl from a month ago
Leo: if that's true come hang with us today, Ricky's parents are out of town we are going there in an hour
Clare: can we please stop talking about Ricky! Him and I are not going to happen so let's just drop it
Jack: I thought you two were cool though? At least he said you two were
Clare: I don't think he knows the definition of cool because for him it means he can just hook up with me plus any girl he meets
Aaron: you two will work it out, your Ricky and Clare you always do
Clare: not this time, I am not going to be his toy
Hayden: what if Grayson and Ethan picked you up? That way you can talk to Ricky face to face
Carly: speaking of Ricky why hasn't he said anything yet?
Ricky: I am to catching up you guys are blowing up my phone
Sarah: well at least your alive
Ricky: so how about it Clare? Want to come over later
Clare: we haven't spoken since Miami and that's what your asking me?
Mike: come on Clare cut him some slack you just said you haven't spoken so technically he can do what he wants
Clare: fine whatever but I am still not going over there like I said I have a flight to catch
Katie: wow they really have changed you, I saw it happening in Miami but you were still the edgy Clare that we knew and now your different
Clare: no I am not!
Ricky: then prove it, come and see me
Clare: fine I will but not to see you, I want to see my other friends
Chloe: great see you in an hour

(A few minutes later Ethan and Grayson text her on their own chat)

Ethan: don't listen to them, if you don't want to go then don't
Clare: now you decide to show up? Where were you five minutes ago
Grayson: reading but we didn't want to get in the middle of it
Clare: well thanks for nothing
Ethan: anyways do you want to go yes or no?
Clare: no and yes
Grayson: what?
Clare: I want to go but only to tell Ricky I am done with him but I also don't because I have had a good streak so far minus the whole pic thing but that's in the past
Ethan: what pic thing?
Clare: Valerie and Chloe posted pics from the bonfire and tagged us
Grayson: and your dad found out?
Clare: yeah on the radio they all did, obviously we denied it on air but off is a different story
Ethan: okay well if you want to go then we can pick you up and you can tell them your going to hang with us for a little, what time do you have to be on the plane?
Clare: we would probably need to be at the airport by two
Grayson: okay well it's ten thirty now tell him we want to take you out for breakfast and we'll have you back home by one
Clare: are you guys sure?
Ethan: yeah if you really want closure you deserve it, and if I am being honest gray and I have been distancing ourselves since Miami
Clare: how come?
Grayson: we have a platform and we want to use it for something positive
Clare: that makes sense, that's kind of how I felt with Brent and Eva yesterday
Ethan: about that we are kind of offended that your debut on YouTube was with them and not with us
Grayson: yeah if you wanted to do a YouTube video you could have said something
Clare: haha I am sorry but it just happened out of no where
Ethan: it's okay we are just messing with you, so we'll see you in thirty mins?
Clare: give me a minute to ask my dad (puts her phone down and walks into nick and Demi's room and sees nick on his phone)
Nick: good morning, I was just about to get you up
Clare: well it's a good thing I have been awake then
Nick: since when?
Clare: ten anyways I wanted to ask you if Grayson and Ethan can take me out to breakfast
Nick: I don't know Clare we need to be at the airport by two
Clare: I know and I told them that and they said they can have me home by one
Nick: do you have everything packed?
Clare: yeah
Nick: alright they can pick you up but I am serious no later then one, we can't risk missing this flight
Clare: I know thanks dad (kisses him on the cheek, and takes her phone back out)

Clare: my dad's cool with it
Ethan: okay we'll be there in thirty mins
Clare: alright I'll get ready
(Puts the phone down and walks over to her suitcase)
Clare's pov
I wanted to wear something that was going to make Ricky regret not being committed to me but I also knew that if I wanted to leave the house it was going to have to also be appropriate. I decided on a hot pink crop top with black high waisted shorts and my signature converse and I decided to just leave my hair down. I put a little bit of makeup and my phone vibrated which meant they were here. I went back to dad's room and told him Ethan and Grayson were here, I gave him a kiss on the cheek, grabbed my purse and walked out of the house and into Grayson's new car.

Clare: dude the color's sick!
Grayson: thanks I love it
Ethan: he loves it so much he's literally wearing matching outfits
Grayson: that's not true Ethan don't lie
Ethan: yes it is
Clare: aww I have missed your constant bickering
Grayson: we have missed you too little Dolan
Clare: I have also missed the nick name
Ethan: so where do you want to eat?
Clare: I thought we were going to Ricky's?
Grayson: we are but it's still early plus e and I are starving
Clare: oh well we could just go to Starbucks it's simple
Ethan: how about a smoothie place I can't have dairy
Clare: still?
Ethan: yeah I am on a streak and I don't want to break it
Clare: well I admire the will power and I am fine with the smoothie place
Grayson: okay let's go (starts driving to smoothie king)
Ethan: what do you want?
Clare: I'll have a small pineapple
Grayson: that's it?
Clare: yeah my appetite's just not there
Ethan: okay
(They order their smoothies and then start driving to Ricky's house)
Grayson: so Clare how's tour going? Is it as bad as you thought?
Clare: no it's been fun especially being with my cousins and we went to the parks when we were in Orlando which was also a lot of fun
Ethan: that's good what about your mom and Justin?
Clare: last I talked to them they were heading to Chicago since it's their next stop on the tour
Grayson: where are you going today?
Clare: London, then Paris, Rome and Verona Italy
Ethan: that's awesome, your going to have so much fun
Clare: I hope we'll see
(A few minutes later they pull up to Ricky's house, get out of the car and walk inside)
Jason: yo gray, E it's been a minute how are you guys (bro hugs)
Grayson: you know busy with the career and stuff
Mike: you sound like a thirty year old, relax take a seat do you want something to drink?
Ethan: no it's okay we are driving
Leo: want a pipe?
Grayson: no thanks we are good
Hayden: okay fine let's sit and catch up then
Clare: no offense guys let's save the small talk for later but right now I just want to talk to Ricky, where is he?
Katie: upstairs in his room, you remember where it is right?
Clare: of course I do
(walks out of the living room and goes upstairs and walks into Ricky's room and sees the bed made and candles around the room)
Ricky: you came
Clare: I told you I would
Ricky: you didn't sound very happy about it so I didn't think you would show
Clare: yeah well I want to say what I have to say in person
Ricky: good because I want to say something too
Clare: don't Ricky I know you and your going to say anything you can to get me to have sex with you, that's why you decorated the room isn't it?
Ricky: (walks over and wraps his arms around her waist) I was hoping we could just skip the talking and go right to the make up sex (kisses her neck)
Clare: Ricky stop
Ricky: why baby girl? You know you miss me
Clare: (takes his arms off her waist) maybe I do but I am not going to sleep with you because we aren't making anything official
Ricky: why do we need to make it official? We are still young why can't we just have fun
Clare: because I like you and I want more then just a hook up, and you want to sleep with every girl you meet
Ricky: not every girl just the really sexy ones (smirks)
Clare: that is exactly why I can't be with you, I am not going to be your toy so I am leaving and you can have fun with whoever you want (starts walking out the door but Ricky stops her)
Ricky: baby please don't leave I like you I really do
Clare: then why don't you want to be with me?
Ricky: because your gone most of the time now and I don't want to feel tied down but I don't want things to end like this
Clare: I don't know what else to do Ricky, we play games and are so toxic for each other I am tired of it, I am tired of going on instagram and seeing your tongue down some chick's throat
Ricky: I am tired of you being gone, I miss you so much Clare but I miss the old you the one that wouldn't give a shit about what her parents say, the one that would risk everything just to be with the people she cares about, her real family
Clare: that's low Ricky and you know it, I am still the same person I was two months ago and I am going to be the same person that I was when I come back
Ricky: if you were the same person you would skip the flight and stay with me, we can be together like we have wanted you me and the crew just like it was before
Clare: you know I can't do that, my parents would go crazy I shouldn't even be here right now I had to lie to them and say I was going out with gray and Ethan just so they could let me out of the house so don't say I am nor the same person because if I completely changed I never would have done that
Ricky: you weren't going to unless I kept pushing you, that's why we are good together because we push each other to step out of our comfort zones
Clare: no we push each other to the point where we get jealous and then have make up sex
Ricky: what's so wrong with that?
Clare: I don't like the way it makes me feel
Ricky: really you don't like when I do this (kisses her neck) or this (brings his hand up her shirt and rubs her stomach) you don't like the way I can make you feel
Clare: (tries not to moan) I love this but I don't love the feeling after because it doesn't mean anything
Ricky: yes it does, this being with you means everything to me
Clare: okay fine then come on tour with me
Ricky: what??
Clare: you heard me if you care so much about me you would come on tour, it's not like your foster parents would care and you know it
Ricky: how about the fact that your dad and the rest of your family hate me
Clare: well you could stand up for us, you could say that you really care about me and you want to prove it to them by going on tour
Ricky: do you hear how crazy you sound? I am not leaving the crew, I am not going to betray them like you did
Clare: how dare you say that! I didn't betray you guys I was forced to leave and in Miami I took risks to come see you guys
Ricky: because your family doesn't like us and your embarrassed to hang out with us in public or in front of your family
Clare: your unbelievable! I can't believe you would say that! I snuck out because you guys would never hang around my family because they are too "Hollywood" for you
Ricky: they are
Clare: well then maybe I am too
Ricky: you weren't like them until they took you and changed you, you were a badass rebel or did you forget that already
Clare: I am so done! Don't call me, don't text me we are done and if the crew feels the same way about me then they can go fuck themselves (leaves Ricky's room and goes downstairs to confront the crew)
Clare: Ricky thinks I betrayed you guys do you feel the same way?
(They stay quiet)
Clare: do you!?
Katie: is anyone going to speak up? Or should I do it
(They stay quiet)
Katie: fine i am going to say what everyone's thinking since we left Miami, yes we feel like you betrayed us we were your family first we took you in and made you into the bad ass you were and then your perfect Hollywood family comes around and you don't even call!!
Clare: it's not easy to talk on the road all the time, we are always doing something so no I can't just call whenever I feel like it
Katie: well then I guess that just means your out and you can take Grayson and Ethan with you, they are becoming too hollywood for us anyway
Clare: you know what fine I don't want to stay a second longer anyway (turns to Grayson and Ethan) let's go please
Ethan: okay (takes his keys's out of his pocket and they walk to the car)
Clare's pov
We got in the car and my emotions were on high, my thoughts are racing and I feel like punching something but I also had angry tears threatening to come out but I refuse to cry a few minutes later Ethan started driving and gray sat in the back with me.

Grayson: what happened?
Clare: I don't want to talk about it
Grayson: are you sure?
Clare: yeah just please I don't want to talk right now
Grayson: okay
Clare's pov
We pulled up at my house twenty minutes later and it was exactly one o clock, I really didn't want to go inside but I knew I would have to at some point and I just need to suck it up, compose myself and walk inside.

Ethan: hey Clare
Clare: yeah
Ethan: at least you said what you needed to say and you should be proud of yourself for that
Clare: thanks E are you mad about not being in the crew anymore?
Grayson: are you kidding? We have been waiting to leave them since we wanted to make a more positive impact
Clare: then why did you stay?
Ethan: to protect you and make sure you wouldn't do anything to crazy
Clare: aww I love you guys (hugs them)
Grayson: we love you too kid, now go have fun in London and call us if you need to talk
Clare: okay bye guys
Them: later
(Clare gets out of the car and walks inside the house)
Joe: one o clock on the dot good job
Clare: thanks I guess... where is everyone?
Joe: you know last minute packing
Clare: of course, I am going to go upstairs with the girls and see if they need any help
Joe: okay
(Clare walks upstairs)
Tina: there you are!
Alena: where did you sneak off too we didn't see you all morning
Clare: I didn't sneak off gray and E picked me up and we went out for breakfast
Alena: sure whatever you say
Clare: you don't believe me?
Alena: well given your track record and the fact that we are in LA...
Tina: Alena lay off
Clare: no it's okay I deserve it, I know I am not exactly honest but I wasn't do anything bad but she can think what she wants
Alena: tell that to the hickey on your neck then
Clare: what!? (Looks in the mirror and mumbles) I am going to kill Ricky
Alena: so you were with Ricky? I thought you said you didn't sneak off
Clare: I didn't and if you say a word I am going to
Alena: your going to what? Clare what can you possibly do
Clare: okay Alena I don't know if I did something to piss you off and if I did I am sorry but I am really not in the mood (starts covering up the hickey)
Tina: is everything okay?
Clare: I am not going to talk about it
(Then nick walks into the room)
Nick: I thought I heard you come in, how was breakfast?
Clare: it was good (puts the makeup away and applies a lip stick)
Nick: what did you eat?
Clare: pancakes, can we stop with the twenty questions
Nick: fine but lose the attitude or I will lose it for you
Clare: okay I am sorry
Nick: good now I just came up here to tell you girls we have to get going
Girls: okay
Nick: do you want to me to take the suitcases down?
Tina: yes please
(Nick grabs the luggage and walks downstairs, the girls check the room one last time and go downstairs where Kevin and joe are loading the car)
Demi: there you are I haven't seen you all day (hugs Clare)
Clare: yeah i am sure dad told you I went out for a little though
Demi: yeah he did, how was it?
Clare: good
Demi: good I am glad you had fun
Clare: (fake smiles) me too
Kevin: alright let's start getting in the car
Dani: okay
Clare's POV
We got in the car and headed to the airport and got there at two we went through the security check points and then sat down at a pizza place and had lunch but I said that I had a big breakfast and I'll eat on the plane later which they luckily agreed to let me do, but I did drink water because I don't want to get sick on the plane. I can visually see the headlines now "Hollywood princess throws up on plane, was it alcohol or drugs" I cringed at the thought and took a sip of my water. Finally three thirty came around and it was time to board the flight, I decided to sit with uncle joe and aunt Sophia because I really don't feel like being interrogated by Alena or Tina. Tina sat with my dad and Demi and Alena sat with uncle Kevin and aunt Dani and a little while after take off I closed my eyes because we have a long ten hour flight ahead.
