Chapter 27

Saturday
Clare's pov
Today we were heading to Verona Italy and I am so excited because It's the historical land mark of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, I am hoping that we we'll be able to go see the play at some point maybe today since I know this is probably going to be our only day off because tomorrow is photo shoots, press interviews, you know the drill by now. Dad's alarm started blaring at ten so we had to get up because we are going to drive there but it's only four hours so if we leave by eleven we should get there by three which gives us time to go sight seeing and hopefully watch the play.

Demi: Clare are you ready to go?
Clare: yeah
Nick: you have everything packed?
Clare: yup
Nick: alright let's meet then down at the buffet we are going to eat and get going
Clare: okay
Demi: are we coming back up to get our stuff or should we take it now?
Nick: let me ask joe and Keven (opens the door and walks to the two rooms across and knocks on the door and they both open)
Joe: hey nick what's up?
Kevin: morning guys
Them: morning
Nick: are we coming back up or do you want to just take the luggage down now?
Kevin: I think we should just take it now, we'll valet the car and then park it it'll be quicker
Nick: okay
Joe: fine with me
(They all grab their luggage and head downstairs)
Danielle: we'll get the table while you guys put the stuff in the car
Kevin: okay
(The boys grab the rest of the luggage and head to valet while the girls head to the buffet)
Sophie: you girls can start getting food if you want
Alena: okay
(Alena, Tina and Clare walk towards the food area while the adults find a table)
Tina: how did you sleep cuz
Clare: fine how about you guys?
Alena: good
(They grab a plate)
Clare: what are you guys going to have?
Tina: those waffles look really good with whip cream and strawberries
Alena: that sounds really good I think I'll have the same, what about you Clare?
Clare's pov
I thought about how I could answer this I could just get the waffles but the thought of eating it already makes my stomach churn but if i don't eat something heavy they are going to worry about me and think I am starving myself especially after almost catching me yesterday, so what do I do?

Tina: Clare... earth to Clare
Clare: huh what did you say?
Tina: Alena asked what you were going to have
Clare: oh sorry spaced out I'll probably get waffles too
Alena: oh okay that's good
Clare: yeah...
(They walk over to the chef and ten minutes later the waffles are ready so the girls get the strawberries and put whip cream and head to the table where the boys are back and sitting with their wives)
Joe: wait a minute is Clare Jonas actually eating something other then a croissant who are you and what have you done with my niece
Clare: haha very funny uncle joe, maybe I am actually hungry for once have you thought about that
Joe: your never hungry
Clare: you should be happy I am actually eating uncle joe
Joe: trust me I am you were starting to worry us for a bit
Clare: just because I have a few days where my appetite's a little off doesn't mean anything (sits on the table)
Nick: it's been more then a few days Clare
Clare: well you guys have nothing to worry about (takes a bite)
Demi: alright we are going to go get our food
Alena: okay
(The adults leave the table and walk towards the food and the girls continue to eat their breakfast when a fan walks up to them)
?: omg you are the Jonas girls!
Alena: haha yeah I am Alena, this is my sister Tina and our cousin Clare
Tina: hi what's your name?
?: I am Jacqueline and I know you guys are eating but can I please get a picture with you?
Alena: we could never say no to a fan so sure (smiles)
Jacqueline: thank you so much
(The girls take the picture and another fan walks up to them)
?: can I get a picture too?
Alena: sure what's your name?
?: Marissa
Clare: do you want us to sign something Marissa?
Marissa: no thanks I was actually wondering if you could take the picture though, no offense to you but I just want one with Alena and Tina
Alena: oh Marissa if you want to take a picture with us it's all of us Clare's our cousin
Clare: it's not a big deal Alena, none taken and of course I can take the picture
Tina: are you sure?
Clare: (grits her teeth) yeah it's fine
Marissa: thank you
Clare: no problem (takes the phone from Marissa and the girls take the picture)
Marissa: can you also sign my phone case?
Tina: yeah
(They sign the phone case and Marissa walks away)
Alena: we didn't need to take the picture with her Clare
Tina: yeah it wasn't right that she excluded you like that
Clare: guys it's fine really
(The adults come back to the table)
Kevin: what's fine?
Clare: nothing don't worry
Alena: we had a fan come up to us and they didn't want Clare to be in the picture instead they wanted her to take the picture
Demi: well that's rude, are you okay Clare?
Clare: for the last time I am fine can we please just leave it alone, it happens let's not make a big deal about it (takes a bite of the waffle)
Nick: okay but you know if you ever need to talk about the hate you can tell us, we know it's hard sometimes
Clare: I know that and I am fine can we talk about something else now
Joe: okay how about we talk about Verona are you girls excited?
Tina: yes!
Kevin: if we get there early what do you want to do?
Clare: I really want to watch Romeo and Juliet
Nick: I don't know Clare that play is really long but we can try
Clare: okay
Clare's POV
The rest of breakfast we talked about Italy and I managed to eat half of the waffle before declaring that I was full and thankfully they just let it go for once probably because of what happened earlier. Honestly I don't know if I care at this point I came to the realization a long time ago that no matter what the fans are going to hate me, I can try to change and see if that changes anything but I don't know at this point. I have been trying to be the perfect angel that the public wants me to be but I am hitting my breaking point, I miss my friends, I miss going to parties, I miss drinking, I miss my mom and Justin, I just miss home. Twenty minutes later the adults finished eating and we headed to the van like always us girls in the back, uncle joe drove Time time with aunt Sophie in the passenger and the other two rows were uncle Kevin, aunt Dani and dad and Demi. An hour into the car ride Alena and Tina fell asleep so I plugged in my headphones to listen to music and I decided to text mom and Justin in the group chat that we have.

Clare: hey guys are you busy?
Selena: hey baby! No we are just on the tour bus right now for a couple hours, how are you?
Clare: to be honest I miss you guys
Justin: aww princess we miss you too, is everything okay? Did something happen with nick and Demi?
Clare: no they are good, I love being with them and the UK is great I just miss you guys today though
Selena: we miss you too but you'll be back in Cali next week and we are also going to be on a break you can stay with Justin and I
Clare: that sounds great
Selena: I love you baby
Justin: I love you too
Clare: I love you guys, we'll talk soon
Selena: okay

Scene change
Selena: (sighs) should I text nick and see if everything's okay?
Justin: if you want to but Clare said she was good, she's probably just feeling home sick you know how it is, the first month it's fun and new but by the second month it's not as enjoyable anymore
Selena: your probably right, she would tell us if something was wrong
Justin: yeah now stop worrying and let me take care of you (pecks her on the lips, then kisses her neck, and her stomach) you know we could think about having another one
Selena: (smiles) after the tour?
Justin: or we could start now
Selena: (laughs) I am not going to be pregnant and on tour get a condom
Justin: fineee
(Gets off the bed and goes to get a condom and gets back on the bed and straddles Selena)
Scene change
Joe: we should start waking up the girls we are almost there
Nick: okay (lightly shakes Alena and Tina and then goes to shake Clare but she's awake) did you stay up the whole car ride?
Clare: yeah I couldn't sleep so I talked to mom for a bit and then watched Netflix
Nick: oh okay well do you want to wake up your cousins?
Clare: sure (looks over at Tina and takes her headphones out) TINA TIME TO WAKE UP!!
Tina: (jumps awake) what the heck Clare!?
Clare: haha sorry I couldn't help it (looks over at Alena and takes the headphones out)
Alena: don't even think about screaming in my ear
Tina: your awake??
Alena: well duh after Clare screaming of course I woke up
Clare: good then I did my job, dad the girls are up
Nick: yeah I am pretty sure everyone in Verona heard you
Clare: are we there yet!?
Joe: yeah and we are ten minutes from the hotel
Dani: we'll stop there and drop the luggage, freshen up and then go sight seeing
Alena: awesome!
Clare's pov
It was three o clock by the time we got to the hotel and we got our rooms, I decided to stay with nick and Demi again while Alena wanted to be with uncle joe and Sophie and Tina stayed with her parents. We got to the room and laid on the bed for a couple minutes.

Clare: I am going to shower first
Nick: okay don't take fifty years
Clare: (gets off the bed and walks to the suitcase) haha very funny
Demi: we are serious don't stay in there for an hour
Clare: okay twenty minutes tops
(Walks into the bathroom)
Clare's pov
Now that I was in the bathroom I was actually going to shower but first I have to get rid of these waffles because I could just feel myself gaining weight. I turned the shower on and leaned over the toilet and made myself sick.

Nick: babe do you hear that?
Demi: it sounds like someone's throwing up (gets off the bed and knocks on the bathroom door) Clare honey are you okay?
Clare: (stops throwing up) yeah I am fine (flushes the toilet)
Demi: are you sure? Let me in
Clare: (opens the door) I am fine
Nick: it sounded like you were just throwing up
Clare: i did but I am fine now I was probably just car sick or something
Demi: are you feeling alright (feels her forehead) you don't have a fever, is your stomach hurting?
Clare: no
Nick: you don't just throw up Clare, you barely ever get the stomach flu so what's up?
Clare: nothing I told you I was car sick
Nick: I don't know if I believe you
Clare: dad I promise it was just a little car sickness we were driving for four hours I am fine really
Nick: alright but if this happens again when we are back in California I am taking you to the doctors
Clare: okay, can I shower now?
Nick: go ahead
(Clare closes the bathroom door)
Demi: I don't believe her nick
Nick: I don't either, I know something's up with her I just don't know what to do if she's not telling us
Demi: so should we make her tell us?
Nick: If we make her tell us I don't know if she actually will, she's gotten good at lying but not that good because we know something's up
Demi: do you think she's pregnant?
Nick: no she would be showing by now if she was
Demi: what about starving herself?
Nick: I really hope not but that's a possibility
Demi: if she is she needs to tell us or we have to keep a closer eye on her you know how serious that is
Nick: I know Demi, I just really don't want to think that my daughter would hurt herself that way
Demi: neither do I but we have to watch out for her these next couple days just to make sure she's not
Nick: and what if she is?
Demi: then we'll handle it as a family okay (wraps her arms around his waist)
Nick: okay (pecks her on the lips)
Clare's pov
I finished showering and put on a simple crop top with high waisted shorts and left my hair straight and walked out of the bathroom.

Demi: ready to go?
Clare: yeah
Nick: alright come on
(They go next door where Kevin, Danielle, the girls, joe and Sophie are)
Kevin: ready to go see Verona?
Alena: yes!
Dani: alright let's go
Clare's pov
We left the hotel and drove to the Roman Arena which looks like a colosseum from ancient history and got tickets to see Romeo and Juliet since they were showing the play and it was amazing. The play finished at ten and we got dinner after at an Italian place and then got back to the hotel at midnight and went to bed but the first day in Verona Italy was a success!
