[Eli, Lexi's inviting you to a day out.]
Napatigil ako sa ginagawa.
"For what?" Sagot ko.
[Girls out? Stuffs like girls do?]
"Marami akong ginagawa ngayon, kuya."
[Please give her a chance.]
I sighed through the phone call.
"No."
[Eli,]
"Don't force me, please. If I said no, no. Alam mo 'yan."
[I thought you'd understand.]
"Can you hear yourself, kuya? You've been mia for weeks! You're in and out of the country and then you'll suddenly introduce a pregnant woman to me? It's not even Martha Elizalde whom you said you'll pursue the last time we talk about this thing!" Hindi siya sumagot kaya nagpatuloy ako. "I would if you made an effort to explain or even update me your whereabouts. Yes, I get it, you're an adult but kuya, I am your sister! Are you even sure it's yours? You were drunk!"
[Eli..]
"I made effort pa to message miss Martha when I knew you were at the same event and asked her about you tapos malalaman kong iba pala ang tinatrabaho mo! Is she the reason why you can't reply with my messages?" I can hear him sighing heavily. "If you'll keep sighing and won't give me answers, I better end this call."
I massaged my temples as I close my eyes. A lot of things has been stressing me out these days. We started our hospital duty since midterm period and we're down to our last rotation which is the delivery room. Aside from duty, we're also busy studying for our revalida and practicing for the upcoming capping ceremony.
"Ayoko na, ayoko na, ayoko na!"
Ginulo ni Issa ang buhok niya at sinalubsob ang mukha sa libro. Nasa 7/11 kami ngayon, kumakain bago bumalik sa dorm dahil hindi kami naghapunan.
"Second year palang tayo pero pakiramdam ko senior year na." Khloe.
"Isipin niyo nalang na ganito every year. Suko na tayo?" Sabi ko sakanilang dalawa.
"Wow, very motivational."
Tinapos namin ang pagkain at bumalik narin sa dorm. Alas dos na ng madaling araw kami nakauwi. Naligo ako at nagpahinga narin.
"Namumutla ka, Eli. Iniinom mo ba ang mga gamot mo?" Tumango ako kay Gabby. Ngayon lang din ulit kami nagkita dahil busy din sila. "May problema ba?"
