Today I dragged going to school. Guess what day it was already! Valentine’s day… yey.
“Emma! You look like a frog who coughed a hairball” Ally frowned at me.
“Gee, thanks for making me feel better, Ally” I thanked her sarcastically.
“You shouldn’t be thanking me! You should be thanking your date to the dance, tonight” Ally refreshed my memory.
“Uh, do you have to remind me?” I groaned.
“What’s wrong? Aside from Ross ignoring you, you should be happy that your going still to the dance with Brandon. Isn’t that what you wanted?” Ally replied.
“I thought Brandon was the one who gave the flowers!” I defended. “But you told me Ross was the one who got the rose for me! Now I’m torn” I said.
Ally gave me a sympathetic look. “If you want my advice I say go for Ross” Ally answered truthfully.
I gave her a wide eyed look. “Why?”
“He really likes you” Ally backed her theory.
I had a feeling Ally knew things a little more than me. Maybe she talked to Ross herself?

“Emma! Table 1!” Ally called out to me.
I was finished putting the coffee grind into the coffee maker. I was debating whether or not I should go to the dance.
If I didn’t go, nobody’s heart would be broken. If I went, I either went with Brandon and broke Ross’ heart or told Brandon no and break his heart while I was with Ross. Valentine’s day was a disaster.
“Can I get your order?” I asked the pair of teenage boys around my age. Maybe I saw them in school, they look familiar.
The one with light brown hair and grey eyes, responded. “It’s not on the menu” the boy head looking at me from head to toe with a playful smirk.
“I’m sorry, what’s not on the menu?” I pressed further. This guy thought I was a play toy, huh?
“You” he flashed his grey eyes to me. I caught his friend with a smirk, looking somewhere else other than in front of him.
“I’m sorry, I’m not editable. I’m taken” I argued. It was a good excuse, to pretend I was taken.
The boy scoffed, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “You’re cute when you try to defend yourself” he laughed. “Tell me, what kind of pretty lady is working on valentine’s day, when she should be with her boyfriend?” he responded.
I was caught off guard for a second.
“I guess it because her boyfriend works at the same place with her” Ross’ voice interrupted my phase of speechlessness. His arm had snaked around my waist. The only thing I needed was a smile to make things seem normal. So, I smiled at the boy who thought he was slick.
“Well, I guess we’ll take 2 cheeseburgers and 2 root beers” he said with distaste in his voice. As for the other boy with blue eyes, he just looked like he wanted to laugh any second. He looked around the cafe. Rather more in Ally’s direction.
“Okay, it’ll be done in 10 minutes” Ross responded coldly.
Me and Ross got our separate ways, as he went to cook and I went to get drinks. Ally was at the fridge too, a great time to tell her something.
“Ally!” I hissed to get her attention. She bumped her head at the top of the fridge.
“Ow! What!” she hissed in pain.
“I think you got a customer who's crushing on you” I darted my eyes at the table where the two teen boys were sitting, looking away.
“Which one?” she asked.
“The one in the white polo shirt! He was totally looking at you while I was getting your order” I smiled bright at her.
“He looks cute from the back” Ally was moving, as if she was checking him out. I slapped her. “Ow”
“There are customers! Don’t check them out when your working! You’ll look like a creep!” I scowled at her.
“Okay, fine! Speaking of creeps, did that table give you trouble? I saw Ross wrap his arm around you, while talking to them” Ally looked worried. “Or are you guys officially together?!” her expression went all dreamy.
“No! We are not together! He was helping me get rid of your stalker’s friend. He was practically flirting with me! And Ross knew I felt uncomfortable” I filled her in.
“How sweet! That’s like prince charming fighting evil for cinderella” Ally sighed dreamily.
“Ally, snap out if it! I’m the one reading books with happy endings! And let me tell you that just sounded dumb to me - a book nerd. No, Ross isn’t prince charming he was being a good friend!” I scowled her.
“Oh, boo. Your a dream killer” Ally frowned at me.
Ding!
“I gotta get the drinks and food to them, wish me luck!” I joked the last part.
“No, you give the drinks and I’ll get the food! I gotta rub a little magic on my future man!” Ally rubbed her hands evilly.
I laughed at her. “Alright, Miss seduce”
