“Ally” I said giving her a hug. “Got my school bag?” I asked.
She dragged my bag on the floor and handed it to me. “Here you go” she said with a smile.
“Geez, thanks for taking care of it” I said sarcastically dusting the bottom part of the school bag.
“Ya welcome” she smile. “Now let’s go to our first class!” she said dragging me along.
And guess what class I had next! Science! No, not that exciting. Just another period to read. Now that it an exciting topic. READING!
I sat at the back of the class. An just took another book out, since I’d finished the last one I was reading.
“Emma” Ally groaned at me.
“What?” I said with a dry mouth, putting my feet on the railing under the table.
“One of these days I’m going to be on the verge of becoming crazy and try to attack you when you’re holding a book. I swear I’m starting to feel like a bull and a red blanket. It only ends in disaster!” Ally argued.
I laughed lightly. “I love ya too” I waved her off.
So, a few minutes into class. And I’m feeling an overwhelming presence that makes me feel embarrassed. I look to my right, to see if Ally was doing something stupid. But, no, she’s playing the good girl and writing her notes down quietly.
And so I do what I can only do. Look around the classroom. And bingo! Someone is staring at me! But, not now because he just realised I caught him.
And what was even more nervous wreaking was it was Ross. Just making my heart skip faster than normal. Yea, this setting was totally normal.
I tried, I really did try to get my brain back into the book. But as I read the words on the page it felt like I was reading gibberish. Half of the words on this page, I wasn’t even understanding.
What was Ross doing to me?
My gaze wandered to Ross’s back. And not long after he looked back at me. But this time gave me a wink, knowingly. Then went back to the teacher’s talking.
My breath for a second, yes, did stop. But stopped as soon as Ally was in the picture.
“Emma? Is there something wrong?” Ally put her hand in front of my face.
Was I that obvious that something was occurring inside me?
I blinked. “What?” I asked Ally.
“What’cha thinkin about?” Ally smiled at me weird. Like she had a feeling about something.
“What?” I repeated. Seriously, couldn’t a girl just space out for a sec?
Ally squealed a little. “We are so talking about this later!”
This caused me to groan. “Can’t you let this subject drop?” I plead.
“Na-uh” she smiled, wiggling a brow.
I huffed at her.

Okay, so science class today was awkward. And next I had… CREATIVE WRITING!
My favorite subject.
Which also meant I would be seeing… Ross. Right?
I took my seat at the middle row. Taking my notebook out and pen.
“Is this seat taken?”
I didn’t even look up. “Nope” I answered. Did I mention I liked to sit alone in this class for ideas?
As soon as I got my things together, I looked at the person sitting next to me.
“Ross?” I said under my breath in shock.
Oh great. Even closer! So where was Ally when I needed her?! Why, didn’t she take this class with me! Oh, right SHE HATED BOOKS!
Right now, I was hyperventilating. My heart was fighting to run away from me. I felt nervous as soon as I could smell his cologne. It, yes, did make him smell good, but made me feel scared inside for some reason.
He just stared at me, like I was about to faint. “You alright?” he asked concerned.
I just nodded. I couldn’t trust my mouth, probably say something stupid like: ‘Ross what the hell are you doing here?’ OR ‘Ross what the heck are you doing to my insides?’.
See that just sounded dumb, in my head. Imagine out loud.
As the teacher directed us to do so, we could make any story based on a girl and boy who are total opposites.
I laughed at the idea. I mean how could two different people end up with each other. Right?
So I made it simple. Just make a girl who hates the words love or doesn’t believe in it and a boy who does believe in things like love. That’s different enough, right?
I caught a glance from Ross. YET AGAIN! I so wanted to say ‘Ross can you stop the staring?! It’s making me nervous on the inside!’
But I refused to do so. It would just be awkward from there, right?
